Bears/Bills observations (1 Viewer)

Was at the game tonight and the IDP guy who impressed me the most was DT Henry Melton. He should be the starting UT and Anthony Adams the starting NT, although Adams is hurt so Toenia started. Melton, who converted from a super-sized RB to DL at UT, showed some flashes as a pass rusher in limited reps last year and lined up w/the ones on the first couple series. He had great penetration. Excellent sleeper, esp. in deep leagues that require both DT and DE.

Barnett played in every scheme and looked good. Andra Davis came off in the nickel and Moats came on. Hard to gauge what to take from Merriman's back-to-back sacks against a horrible OLine. Obviously good news for him coming off last couple of years, but that OLine is terrible. Start your IDP Linemen v. Bears. Dareus looked very good too, but again, not the best front to benchmark him on.

Amobi Okoye looked good too, but he ran against the two's. Vernon Gholston was the third DE and he looked horrible against the one's and two's. Corey Wooten will be the third DE during the season and looked good against the two's. Gholston could be gone if they find anything halfway decent on the street after the next round of cuts.

Bears have no depth at safety, unless rookie Chris Conte comes along. Last year they rotated them more, when Wright was healthy, but I'd bump both Chris Harris and Major Wright with Manning gone. He didn't do anything in he game, but I love nickel CB D.J. Moore, he flashed some great playmaking ability when he worked his way in late last year.

Zack Bowman (head) and Marcus Harrison (looked like leg) left w/injuries. Neither is a starter. UDFA Dom DeCicco was MLB2. Had to look him up on the Google.

Off the IDP side, MBIII looked tremendous against Buffalo's ones. Rotoworld said it was against the twos, but it wasn't.

What's the Bills SS situation ?Is George Wilson the clear starter ?
Actually didn't pay much attention to the Buf one's in the secondary, was more focused on the front seven and the rotations there - only a handful of series, so tough to get much on everybody. He started and as far as I know otherwise, he's fairly locked in as the starter at SS.

Reggie Torbor replaced Andra Davis in the nickel.Corey Wootton hurt his knee while covering the opening kickoff. Not sure how bad it is yet.I think Merriman is back, as long as he doesn't get hurt again. Also, I thought it was interesting that McKelvin and McGee started over Florence, and then Florence got run over by Marion Barber in the 2nd quarter.
