Profootballtalk.com reports LB Lance Briggs and the Bears have come to terms on a long-term contract extension.

Briggs, who is currently playing under the one-year franchise tender, has played hurt all season but still performed at a high level. Terms of the deal aren't yet available. Dec. 3 - 7:30 pm et

Pro Football talk is utter trash. All you ever read is their tirades about ESPN and Len P yet no mention of the assinine misinformation they provide.

True or not, Briggs cost himself a lot of money not signing after last year IMO.

POSTED 8:02 p.m. EST, December 3, 2007NO DEAL FOR BRIGGS by Michael David SmithWe're now hearing that the Bears and linebacker Lance Briggs have not come to an agreement on a long-term contract extension. We had previously heard from a league source that a deal was in place to keep the linebacker in Chicago. But now we're told that the deal isn't done.In one of his few public comments about his contract status, Briggs told Fred Mitchell of the Chicago Tribune that he wants to reach a long-term deal to stay with the team, and that if he gets an offer he thinks is fair, "I will retire a Bear. A happy Bear."But no such deal has been reached yet.
