Bears DST (1 Viewer)

I drafted the Bears to be a lights out defensive unit and they looked promising in that opening Atlanta game but then we learned that Atlanta really isnt that great this year and that the Bears are not looking like the normally opportunistic defense they once were. Also the new kick off rules have hurt special teams TD's from Hester. Will there be any light at the end of this tunnel or are you looking to unload the Bears DST?

The offense sucks and their entire secondary sucks. There is only so much urlacher can do. I dropped them for San Fran and have no regrets.

I actually just picked them up off waivers. I think they are a little underrated, they've had a rough go so far, but they've faced a brutal schedule.

Week 1-Atlanta, mediocre offense, Bears D looks great.

Week 2-New Orleans, elite offense, defense looks not so great

Week 3-Green Bay, elite offense, defense looks not so great

Week 4-Carolina, very good offense, defense looks not so great

Week 5-Detroit, borderline elite offense, defense looks ok other than 2 big plays

They have looked like most good defenses would look like given their opponents. I'd argue that other than Atlanta all the other teams have top-6 offenses(even Carolina) the next 2 weeks they have Minnesota and Tampa Bay, niether of which can move the ball very well at all. I've got Chicago as a top-5 defense these next 2 weeks and I don't see any reason why they won't finish in the top-10 the rest of they year. They've already played the toughest part of their schedule in my opinion.

Just benched their two starting safeties; pretty drastic move for Lovie Smith. Methinks things are as bad as they look.

I'm not panicking, because I already dropped them. It was a hard move to make given that they were my high-expectation defense on draft day as well. But I've watched all their games and they are just not getting enough pressure on the QB to make good things happen for them. And while the schedule gets a little better, they still have some bad matchups ahead, including Green Bay in Week 16. The Peppers knee injury makes matters worse. I think the final straw for me though was watching Meriweather completely whiff on Best on Monday night.

I am rolling with Dallas the rest of the way, except for this week (choosing Cinci vs. Indy instead) and week 10 against Buffalo.

NOTE: My league doesn't count special team scores for the defense, so I'm looking for sacks, turnovers, and low points allowed.

This is making me lose confidence...even against the Vikings.I might pick up Minny's D to go against that Bear Oline this week instead.

I think Minnesota is a good pick up this week. When Carimi comes back the O line might be a little better but he is not expected to play this week.It is definitely panic time on the Bears D because of the play of their safeties and D line. They are giving up a lot of big plays (run and pass) because the safeties have been out of position and they have also allowed players to get deeper than them which is a big no no in Lovie's defense. With the exception of week 1 the D line hasn't helped the defensive backs much because they have not done a good job of pressuring the QB.

The fact that my scoring system also counts special team returns towards the defense is the only thing that has kept me from dropping them at this point.

It has already been said a few times in this thread, but unless they can start putting consistent pressure on the QB, they're secondary is just not good enough to keep teams off the board this year.

Howver, Keep in mind that they've faced Ryan, Brees, Rodgers, Newton, and Stafford so far this season.

Bottom line, if they can't shut down the Vikes on their home turf in prime time, they may be receiving the ol' "Welcome to Dumpsville, Population: You" card.

I drafted the Bears D because I'm a homer, but I wasn't expecting a top 5 D out of them, I was hoping for top 10 (12 team league). That being said they've played some of the best offenses in league already, have had some serious issues with their own offense, and still are the #8 fantasy defense in my league right now. If my league didn't count return TD's and punished severely for high yardage/points allowed I'd probably drop them and move on. I'm hoping the upcoming easier schedule gives them a production bump, but who knows. There's not much better on the waiver wire right now.

Peterson always rips them apart and peppers is questionable. I wouldn't look for a top five finish this week.

More than any defense in the league the Bears depend on the SS to play run and pass. Speed at the LB position is also very high on the list.

This team has had major issues at the safety positions (benching both starters from last week this week) and its possible the linebackers have lost a step.

Would I panic? They have another 2 games against the vikings (#28 in most points allowed to fantasy defensive teams), Detroit (#29), TB (#18), Phili (#13), SD (#12), Oakland (#31), and have KC (#17), Seattle (#5) and GB (#25) in the fantasy playoff season. In other words, they still go against 4 of the top 8 offenses for points allowed to defenses. Aside from Seattle, looks like a tough schedule.

I wouldn't drop. I'd trade before it gets worse though. This isn't Chicago's year.
