Ben Tate's perceived Value? (1 Viewer)

Updating a previous item, Texans coach Gary Kubiak indicated Wednesday that Arian Foster (hamstring) will not return to his full workload in Week 4.

"It doesn't go from nothing to everything," said Kubiak. "We've got to bring him along the right way." The situation sounds eerily similar to Week 2, when Foster started the game but only made it through two quarters and didn't play with his usual productivity (3.3 YPC). Owners deep at running back can approach this as a wait-and-see week, especially considering the matchup against Pittsburgh. Foster remains a better Week 4 fantasy play than Ben Tate.

I'm more in the Foster is the clear #1, Tate clear #2 camp myself. Tate will still get some carries, but if/when Foster can get his hammy back in shape (I'm just guessing, but give himj a couple more part time weeks, barring an aggravation), he'll get 2/3rd to 3/4th of the carries. Until then, maybe 50-50 or 60-40 split, working his way back to almost workhorse status.

Now, if he pulls up again, which is quite possible, I think we reset the clock for another 4-5 week cycle of the same. Pull him back to rest, give him a week or 2 off, ease him back for a week or 2, etc.

Actually the quote from Kubiak confirms essentially what Rizzler was saying. Kubiak basically admitted that at some point, FOSTER IS GOING TO RETURN TO EVERYTHING, meaning he will be the main ball carrier and feature back. Like EVERYONE has been saying, there is still significant risk associated with Foster, but this confirms the reasoning behind taking the risk- that if he is healthy, he is the bell cow once again and there is no timeshare.

no i think what us rational folks were saying is that it will be more of a rbbc when he comes back due to the injury and having a capable #2. Rizzler and crew were saying when Foster came back no matter what he was getting 75%+ of the carries.

I guess this depends on what you are going to define as him being "back". If you mean the first week or two he plays, then sure, I would expect Tate to get more carries than usual as they ease Foster in. If you mean for the duration of the season, I think you are dead wrong to think this will be any form of timeshare or anything but Foster's backfield nor do I think it lacks rational though to believe Foster will return to roughly the same workload he had last season once he is back up to full speed.

I'm not really sure that Foster will get 75% of the carries once he is healthy. He'll most likely get the Lion's share but the Texans aren't going to want him to wear him down before the playoffs (which I'm guessing they think they can make).

You have severe comprehension issues.I stated once Foster was back and HEALTHY enough to carry the load, he would. And he will.
As I said earlier you would have to be high to start Foster this week. Good luck and God bless rizz.

you guys must compile some super sweet teams

Unless I hear something amazing, I'll be starting Mathews and Hightower over Foster or Tate this week. I think even if fully healthy, it will take Foster a week to get fully into his groove. Assuming he comes out of this cleanly though, I think he (and Kubiak) won't look back and he'll get about 65% of the work.
