Bennett's outlook in TB (1 Viewer)

For the love of god, someone please tell me why they gave up a draft pick for Bennett if hes not going to get touches now and Pittman will leapfrog him when he returns?!

Tell me why this trade made good business sense for the Bucs if Bennett wont get any opportunity for the RB1 role like everyone is predicting?!

Funny thing is..... I'm not even big on Bennett per say, it just seems like common sense that a team whos scrambling for a RB , gives up picks , gets a RB and then :twilightzonel: gives them a chance to play.

Earnest Graham people.... Pittman folks....... seriously , is competition that stiff?

Why would Tampa give up two draft picks if they didn't think he could be a significant contributor, if not a fill-in starter? If they just needed a "guy" they could have signed Lionel Gates or someone else (I heard they were considering Gates earlier). The picked Bennett because they think he still has something to offer, and their other choices were not available. I think he'll definitely get a chance this week to show what he has. If he does something with his carries, he'll get more. In a PPR his potential is even higher.
I would expect very little this week. Some looks/touches next... then it is up to his production.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: RB Kevin Jones returns to Detroit's starting lineup, and there's a good chance that offensive coordinator Mike Martz will call his number a lot to negate the expected Bucs' pass rush. For Tampa Bay, TE Anthony Becht starts for an injured Alex Smith, who didn't make the trip. The Bucs have a few plays in for new RB Michael Bennett, but Earnest Graham will get most of the work. Zack Crockett will be used on short-yardage plays. Smith's absence could hurt Jeff Garcia's underneath passing game, unless coach Jon Gruden allows Jerramy Stevens more playing time. Lions QB Jon Kitna is looking to attack CB Phillip Buchanon, who continues to start for injured Brian Kelly.
