Am I crazy to start thinking about Benson with the 12, 13 picks ???Think he may be more valuable this year than any rb that would normaly be there????

Exactly, at 4.01. Unless you draft in Chicago; then he'd be gone around the 3.08.At the turn in rounds 3 and 4 maybe .... @ 1.12 and 2.1 you areconfused
I think there might be an article on this site and many others about value based drafting. You might want to read it. Then if you have questions we will be happy to answer. If your high on Benson then great. But, he can be had much later in the draft. Use the 1/2 turn for somebody more valuable.

I am aware of VBD...However Value Changes....Yes I am High on Benson, But do you really think willie Parker or Droughns are better choices than Benson??? I just belive Benson is on his way up...Quick....and there is no way he makes it to 4:1 IMO

Just asking, but is Benson really going to overtake TJ as the starter this season? TJ was the leading NFC rusher last season right? Maybe I'm off, but I'm not seeing CB as the lead back here.
I mean I could see 50/50 all the way through 16. I would have to say tha FWP and quite a few other RBs, (Dunn comes to mind) that will be way more valuable than CB.

I didnt mean to start the TJ vs. Benson argument again... Seems fairly Clear to me that the Job is bensons to lose...
OK, Sorry for pointing out VBD to you. You are correct, value does change. Benson's value will not go as high as 1.12 or 2.1 by the time you draft. There are going to be better options for you at that point in the draft. If he doesn't make it back to you at the 3/4 turn then so be it. It still doesn't justify picking him at the 1/2 turn. There is sure to be great value for you at the 3/4 turn if someone else reached for Benson in the third round. Draft smarter than your leaguemates. You are off to a good start by finding these things out here. Just my opinion. Good Luck!!

I guess My real question is, Is a starting benson better than or equal too a McGahee...or even a caddy....I think he is.....I belive in VBD to a point........But Value is different for every draft ...would i like to get benson in the 4th ...sure...I even got him in the 6th in a 16 team dynasty earlier this year... one thing is for sure.. Benson is on the rise mark my words

If you're that high on Benson, then take him. I think that you're crazy though. Not only can he be had almost 2 rounds later, but I still think that TJ will end up outscoring Benson this season. People are going nuts over Benson and for little reason. He has proven and shown absolutely nothing so far. He did ok with his carries last season but nothing mind blowing. I think he's hugely overated and that you'll be kicking yourself all season if you take him in the first or second round.

He basically has already. Whenever Jones is ready to start practicing, hes going to be the one chasing, not the other way around. I cant see him catching Benson either

You seem to be talking about ADP not VBD.If you project Benson to be value at pick 1.12 and better than all other available options there and do not see him lasting to pick 3.12 then by all means draft him there.

I wouldn't TAKE Benson at 1.12, 2.01, but could he have that value this year? Sure.
Given he missed OTA's and is scheduled to miss at least the next 7-10 days, clearly Jones is fighting an uphill battle.
If you're drafting in the next week, you'll likely get Benson at 3.12/4.01.

Just looked to see where he was actually going. Checked Antsports (12 teams) and the last 86 serious mocks he goes at the 5.06 on average. 3.11 was the earliest he was taken in the last 86 drafts. Chances are good he'll be there.
I agree with this. ESPN did a fluff piece on Benson this morning on sportscenter. I think he's moving up people's draft boards after seeing that.

Add into the value argument that Chicago has a relatively...check that...downright easy schedule against the run.
Looking at last season, game by game, there were very few games where the backs split carries, even in the 60/40 neighborhood. Granted, T. Jones was the vet with a year in the system, but it did reveal an interesting trend.
Moving to today, it is becoming increasingly more likely that Benson is grabbing a hold of the RB#1 position and T. Jones injury/antics are not helping his situation in the least. From a practical standpoint, if this continues, if Benson continues to progress and T. Jones continues to be disgruntled, does anyone on this board see the starting job remaining with T. Jones at the start of the season?
If the answer is no, and you consider the fact that Chicago is a run first team and have a very favorable run schedule, you should conclude that Benson's value is high and getting higher. I think that this is Longshot's argument.
