other lame cartoons from the 80's that were tiresome:

1. Silverhawks;

2. Galaxy Rangers;

3. Captain Planet;

4. The one about something like a meteor passing by the earth that changed plants into not only sentient beings but also ones that wanted to rule the world.

I'd say Thundercats.

Agree with the post about MASK. Also think Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors is one that is often forgotten.

I think this is the first and only case I can say the '80s sucked.
Smart people like us know cartoons as a whole peaked much earlier than the 80s. Such as the early Warner Brothers stuff.

Pick one... 80's cartoon or cartoon of all time.
The best cartoons were in the 80s, therefore the best 80s cartoon is also the best of all time.
I stand corrected. Although I can't think of an 80's cartoon that I'd rather watch than The Simpsons or Family Guy.
There was an episode of The Simpsons in 1989. So I guess that's youre answer.
The Simpsons also had the Tracey Ullman shorts before that.

Real Ghostbusters not getting nearly enough love. that show was ahead of its time.
In what way? It was based on a movie. It was behind its time.

The others had movies, toys, etc. based off the cartoons.

Honorable mention to M.A.S.K. It was probably the best 80's cartoon that no one remembers.
I thought about including this, but I think it only lasted one season.
May have been a wasted spot anyway. Most people I talk to about it, doesn't remember it. The toys were as awesome as GI Joe and Transformers, IMO.
Muh muh muh Mask, MASK! Good show but the toys were pretty crappy compared to the other two. The vehicles were cool but the guys were lame an nonarticulated like Star Wars toys. Joes and Transformers were way better.

I loved Inspector Gadget but truth be told I remembered Muppet Babies being extremely creative. However no Ninja Turtles makes this list incomplete.
