I listened to Moon Duo again and I want to retract the King Gizzard comp. The Lizard Wizard is in the garage and Moon Duo in the laboratory above it.Syd tha Kyd's solo album is kind of a disappointment. She doesn't have enough variety in her voice and songwriting to carry an album without the funkiness of The Internet behind her.
Moon Duo's new one is less guitar dominated than their previous records (or RIpley Johnson's work with Wooden Shjips) but it's still pretty cool head trip music. RIYL that King Gizzard record that came out last year.
Isn't there always a new Ty Segall album?Didn't even know there was a new Ty Segall album.
I prefer Fuzz to his solo albums.Isn't there always a new Ty Segall album?
cool- I have to go back in... was (eta- WASN'T) turning any cranks at first blush.I'm reversing course, new Japandroids rules.
I know I'll give it another listen, but didn't grab me. And that direction (NESW or whatever it's called) song is simply god awfulI'm reversing course, new Japandroids rules.
Arc of Bar tho...I know I'll give it another listen, but didn't grab me. And that direction (NESW or whatever it's called) song is simply god awful
That's one of my favorites on the album :|I know I'll give it another listen, but didn't grab me. And that direction (NESW or whatever it's called) song is simply god awful
I saw that Mastodon has a new song on Spotify, I assume they have a new album coming up this year?Anything like Mastodon or Red Fang out recently?
I like the Hootie song! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvENXHX6v3sRobert Randolph & The Family Band have a new one out today "Got Soul"
I didn't like it upon first listen. At all. It got better after a few times.I know I'll give it another listen, but didn't grab me. And that direction (NESW or whatever it's called) song is simply god awful
I think the last couple were bad and the new one especially soLong time fan of Sun Kil Moon and whaver Mark Kozalek puts an . interest in, but Jeez Looeez this latest album is the biggest turd in a stretch of turds.
Wow. I'm not sure I like it but that's some rangeBeachheads' self-titled is a pretty good little power pop album. Dude(s?) from Kvelertak.
It reminds me a bit more of Attack on Memory than the other two, but that's my favourite of theirs anyway. I think this one is a bit mellower than Here and Nowhere Else.I really like the new Cloud Nothings album Life Without Sound. It retains most of the energy of their previous releases but with more variety and hooks.
Yeah, I like this one too, it's not as heavy/hard as PUP but it's really good.Menzingers sound like pretty good pop-punk, which is what they're known for, right? They tour with PUP all the time.
Me too.... I do not know much about them, but Nonagon Infinity was my favorite album of 2016. They seem wierd. Also a new King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard out today. Listening to it now.
Me too, and I still can not stop playing 2 or 3 albums from last year that I am in man-love with. (Jeff Rosenstock and Direct Hit! mainly)My saved albums queue is getting unreasonable and unmanageable.
Love that Jeff Rosenstock album.Me too, and I still can not stop playing 2 or 3 albums from last year that I am in man-love with. (Jeff Rosenstock and Direct Hit! mainly)
I liked this a lot on first listenI am on the Ryan Adams bandwagon.
Haven't listened yet but I think the loss of his girlfriend/band partner might be a plus for me.I'm diving into the new Dirty Projectors this morning... low expectations, as my own relationship with the band is all over the place. definitely have to be in the right mood for almost all of it (although their cover of Rise Above is one of my favorite songs)
First blush, it misses her distinct vocalsHaven't listened yet but I think the loss of his girlfriend/band partner might be a plus for me.
Probably my most anticipated otY. Their last 3 have been elite upper tier for me.Pissed Jeans out today
Oh come on!Artists apparently don't want to sell CDs anymore, only records and tapes, so they'll have to be content with the four tix I bought
