Best and Worst Draft Picks (1 Viewer)

Looking back, what was your best and worst draft picks of the year? Any good or bad trades along the way?

Best: Steve Smith and Miles Austin

Worst: Drafting Brian Westbrook and Clinton Portis in the first two rounds, thinking I'd be set at RB for the year

Keep 2 league (Fitzgerald and Portis). Draft went as follows:

Drew Brees

Antonio Gates

Santonio Holmes

Thomas Jones

Joseph Addai

Pretty good team, start 2 RB and 3 WR. Needless to say, after the first six weeks of the season I had 5 "could of" won games and fell to 1-5. Sometimes a draft is not meant to be.

Keep 6 League Return Yards Also

Ronnie Brown, Cedric Benson, Peterson, MJD, Edwards, Housh

Not really any bad draft picks because I traded them pretty quickly so wasn't bit by holding on to them.

Best Trade was with the not so smart person of the league which was easy

First Trade/ Ronnie Brown,Pennington, no namer for Josh Cribbs, Colsten, LT

Second Trade/ MJD Two no namers for Brees,Steve Smith NYG, Hixon

Best draft pick was my number one which was Desean Jackson.

And I am in the Super Bowl

Witten too early. And in all 3 big(ger) money leagues. It didn't kill me (won one), but hindered me quite a bit in all (at WR2 especially). I was able to fill that gap to some degree, but still didn't pan out. And it cost me the shot at a few breakouts in that range. Also cost me WW money I suppose...

Shouldn't have targeted the same guy in all three leagues, especially after having taken him twice already. Like to gamble, but that wasn't worth it.

:bag: Of course you're in the SB.I was having trouble NOT highlighting everything in that post.

Redraft 16 team league - 4th pick.

Best pick - Packers QB in round two.

Worst pick - Larry Johnson in round three.

Best trade - B.Berrian for Jamaal Charles right before Charles became the starter.

In the Championship Game this year.

Redraft League, 10 teams, serpentine style pick 3

Best pick: Frank Gore round 2

Worst pick: Kevin Smith round 4 (but looking back to draft day roster I have way too many WTF was I thinking picks, LOL)

Best trade: Mike sims-walker for Ricky Williams AFTER Brown went on IR

Best free agent pick-up: Miles Austin after his huge monster game of 10/250/2

In championship game now. Starting line-up:

Brady

Gore

R. Williams

Andre Johnson

Chad Ocho

M. Austin

k: G. Hartley

d: N.O.

Best pick: Ray Rice in the 5th in one league and I got him pretty cheap in an auction league.

Worst pick: Steve Slaton in Round 1. Not as bad as picking Kevan Barlow in the first round a few years ago, but pretty close.

In a start-up PPR dynasty this year:

Best picks

3.8 Brees

5.9 Ray Rice

8.2 Benson

13.11 Sidney Rice

Worst picks

4.3 Westy

9.11 Morgan (he's starting to play better now, but a non factor all year)

10.2 Willie Parker (low risk in the 10th, but what a waste of roster space this year)

This team is playing for a SB today.

PPR league

Best: Larry Fitzgerald at 2.3.

Worst: Eddie Royal and Jason Witten. Managed to snag MSW and Celek off waivers so that halfway salvaged my season.

Before going on the IR he was a top 12 back in PPR (1 point per rec) scoring. So unless you have a crystal ball...you madew a pretty good pick. If this was non PPR yeah I feel your pain.My best pick was Sidney Rice in the 17th round of a PPR 3 player keeper.

Ray Rice in the 6th round of the one redraft I play in.

Worst pick was Tom Brady in a 6 point for all TD league at pick 10 in a ten team league. I wanted to have fun and grabbed Moss at 2.1 I am playing for third place but still very dissapointing as I was expecting 30-35 TD's.

Two start up dynasty drafts Chris Johnson at 1.6 and 1.9

Worst TO in one Mark Bradley in Both

High stakes redraft

Best Dallas Clark in the 4th Peyton in the fifth and S Smith in the 10th

Worst Brando Jacobs in the 2nd, Chris Henry in the 7th

Dynasty rookie draft.

I traded up to grab the 1.01 and still had Westbrook on my roster. I was reluctant to draft McCoy. So, I was dangling Westbrook out there for a first round pick. No takers. Was able to get the 2.02 for Westbrook and I did that. Happy as ever.

It got me Austin Collie with that pick and I couldn't be happier. Collie was a nice band-aid for some bye-weeks and later in the season when Percy Harvin went down. Collie is nice and young and Westbrook is about done.

Not really picks and more what I didn't do (all in dynasty leagues):

I turned down a trade for Ray Rice and a rookie 3rd for DMac

I had an owner wanting to trade me Jamaal Charles for basically nothing but I knew he was about to drop him so I decided to wait....the next week he turns into gold.

Good moves - holding on to Robert Meachem and trading Antonio Bryant for Sidney Rice

Ray Rice was my best draft pick of the year as my RB2. Worst would be Roy Williams (DAL) as my WR2. I jettisoned Roy last week for a kicker after his poor performance kept me from the title game.

Thankfully I made a trade midseason that sent Cadillac Williams and Mario Manningham for Willie Parker and Anquan Boldin.

To be determined as best or worst as I meet the other owner in the final today...

Received Favre/Wells/AJ for Garrard/Forte/Charles/SSmith (CAR) in week 9.

Probably didn't need to add Charles as a throw-in, but QB was killing the team and nobody would trade with me due to historical successes.

Favre

TJ

Wells

AJ

Wayne (or Bowe)

Witten

Hartley

ARZ

v.

Brees

R Rice

Charles

S Smith

Welker

Finley

Tynes

CIN

best pick was marshall at 6.2 in a 5 keeper 10 team league, lots of folks were down on him.

wost pick was braylon edwards at 5.2, dont know what I was thinking.

Also did poorly methinks with trades. Best trade was after the draft, trading away greene and getting addai.

i also traded away marshall, manningham, wells for calvin johnson, msw and moreno, kinda regretting that especially because i also had beanie wells/percy harvin for desean jackson/j. charles on the table. that trade took place just before our deadline on november 20th, i was out of the playoffs and playing for next year but it still stings heh.

Best picks in a 2 player keeper league: Rodgers-1st round (though, I could've got had him later), DJax-2nd Round, and R.Rice-5th round, Harvin -last round pick

Worst pick- Witten-3rd round

Best WW pick-s S.Rice, Mendy, MSW

$250 cap auction PPR:

Best:

Jamaal Charles $4

Sidney Rice $3

Brent Celek $3

Mike Wallace $1

Austin Collie $1 (traded in midseason)

Worst:

Eddie Royal $36

Larry Johnson $30

Best: Chris Johnson (late in the 2nd!)

Worst: Pick any of these late picks: Jamal Lewis, John Carney, Billy Miller, Earnest Graham, Mark Bradley

Worst picks: Eddie Royal twice; Calvin Johnson once

Best picks: Waiting until round 13 to draft a TE then going Celek, Finely, Davis three straight picks. Can start a second TE as a WR Flex in that league. Also, Rice in the 5th.

Semi keeper league.

Worst:

1.12 Clinton Portis (forfeited my first rd pick in order to keep him)

2.01 Donald Brown (future investment, get to keep him for a late round pick in future years as one of my rookie keepers)

3.12 Derrick Ward ( :lmao: )

Best:

4.01 Brandon Marshall

I made a million draft pick trades and ended up with no 3rd or 4th round picks. Here's a short thread on it:

http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index...&p=10726238

Since I ended up drafting Big Ben, Schaub, AJ, Rice, Ricky, VD, Kaeding, Vikings, and Eagles I ended up winning my championship (which we play in week 15 for some unknown reason). Although I won in the last week of the regular season by 0.3 points in order to even make the playoffs.

Worst picks were Turner at 1.04 who basically did nothing for me and then I traded him for other stiffs who did nothing for me and all of my mid-round receivers: Braylon, Santana Moss, and Royal. But I picked up MSW and Austin off of waivers, so I ended up being okay at WR2 in a start two, non-PPR, league.
