Best Burger In Each State (3 Viewers)

I've had Hodad's only once and thought it was overrated. (It was more about quantity than quality.)

Rocky's is the best burger in San Diego. I went through a phase, years ago, of trying to sample every burger that was identified on any "best burger" list of San Diego. There are a bunch of good ones. I'd name Cass Street Bar & Grill and Lahaina's as being in the underrated category. But the best is Rocky's and it's a pretty easy choice, IMO.

Wow those are some names.

Have never lived in SD but have been to Rocky's, Cass St (more for legendary happy hour), and Lahaina is my favorite beach bar in America. Seafood tacos are sneaky good there.. never had the burger.

Gynourmous swing and a miss for Florida.

Lord. 

We have incredible burger joints in South Florida and two have them reside in Broward County.

Jacks Old Fashioned Burgers which is an iconic Fort Lauderdale Landmark and a true classic flat top juicy burger joint.

And Tucker Dukes which can make some incredible concoctions. 

Also Magic City Burgers in Deerfield Beach.

Tap 42 also has maybe one the best burgers I have ever had. It is called the Drunken Goat:

Lamb and Beef blend

Whipped goat cheese

Arugula 

Tomato

Onion

Dijonnaise

And  a Purple Haze Raspberry Jam to die for that offsets the Goat Cheese to perfection. 

This burger is a dream to the taste buds.

What they chose is a joke when yer talking about classic burgers. I guess they had to go the international route and Miami......but to me.....a huge missed opportunity to showcase tried and true good old fashioned burger joints.

Jacks and Magic City for classic American flat top burgers and Tucker Dukes and Tap 42 Craft Kitchen for gourmet burgers of the highest order.

Anyway.......wanted to chime in.

I can vouch for the Minnesota choice.

It's a classic.  Like most (all?) states I imagine, there are a lot of great burger places.  While the Nook might be the best, it certainly isn't worth the crowded conditions you have to eat in.  There are a lot of places that make the Jucy Lucy, and I can't personally decipher one as being materially better than another.

Yeah, Luger is not the right choice.  New York is a big state, with zillions of burger joints, obviously.  My favorite is Rare Bar and Grill on Lexington Ave.  Way better than Luger.

Good lord, that's terrible!  That place was incredible.  Guess I'll have to make do with Island Burgers and Shakes next time I'm in the city.  Don't tell me that one's closed too.  Not sure I could handle that news.

It's not around anymore, but there used to be a place called Tucker's that had fried hamburgers that were absolutely ridiculous.

I was never a big Port of Call fan, though.

Just stopped at JL Beers in Fargo ND on the way to Yellowstone.   Some really good burgers.  Wife had one with peanut butter and jalapeños, mine was a Cajun burger.  Kids had boring ones.   Very glad we stopped here for lunch.  Not the best burgers on earth, but high quality and tasty (as we were all starving).  Wife’s was the best one.

I’d say they got Arizona right. Harvey’s Wineburger has been around forever. I used to go there and drink Michelob and grab a cheeseburger 35 years ago. And it’s still there and still serving really good bar style burgers.

I’m sure there are other burgers that would win in a blind taste test, but if I had to vote, this would be my vote.

Two different burgers, but Judice is my favorite.  They are small griddle style burgers, and yes no fries.  I order two burgers and a bag of chips.  Don’t expect a fancy place, and it’s small.  If you are on I-10 driving through Louisiana it’s a good fast place to stop.  Port of Call also is a delicious burger.

Baton Rouge has a newer place called Curbside which is a really good burger joint.

I'd say the soulburger in Memphis earns the crown. There are undoubtedly bigger or fancier burgers in the state, but the soul burger is royalty... second only to a Dyers burger.

I rolled my eyes when they chose a Cuban burger in Miami. I must admit though it sounds damn good and they mix pork with beef which we do at our house for burgers. Gives it a sweet taste which lends itself to tomato based barbecue sauce. I would give their suggestion a try if I was ever 350 miles South on 95.

In my pre-vegan days I used to eat fritas, the Cuban hamburger, regularly. The pork and shoestring potatoes make it different. Also, the original fritas are usually not big, so you can eat more than one. Like the Royal Castle and White Castle burgers. There's only one Royal Castle left. BTW, my mom met my step-dad at a RC in Miami. Speaking of burger chains, I used to love Fuddruckers, I wonder if they played a role in the gourmefication of burgers.

I have been to Port many times in my life, but I'd bed a c-note never more than a couple times before midnight. I have not been to Judice Inn, though I've had plenty good experiences in Lafayette I think every time I've wanted Cajun and seafood, not a burger. IMO for a late night, regular joint burger Beachcorner on Canal is the place. I know Camelia would make a lot of lists. I'd add GB's and Company Burger in the bar/diner category.

Right now I think a lot of Orleanians would tell you Cowbell has the best burger, but Blue Oak is good, and so are some of the newfangled places that have popped up - Petite Grocery is pretty damned good, but it's a restaurant. So is Luke in the CBD. There's also Bub's on Banks I hear, not far from Finn's, but I still haven't tried it.
