That's a pretty decent list - if it was not so f'n cold in several of those countries I would say I would consider living in just about any of them.According to this study Germany is the best country in the world in which to live. Factors included sustainability, adventure, cultural influence, entrepreneurship and economic influence. The US is considered the "most powerful" and finished #4 overall behind Canada who was #2 (so now they have this and hockey).

4. United States
5. Sweden

7. Japan
8. France
9. Netherlands
10. Denmark
The Germans are the defending champs in the world's most popular sport. And their major league franchises are supporter-owned. There are no Stan Kronkes or Jerry Joneses in Deutschland. It's basically a fact that Americans work too much and have less vacation than our European counterparts. They also have better healthcare, infant mortality rate and overall life expectancy.
But our sports are clearly better. So that's something.
How's Germany on gay rights?
cstu said:The great thing about Germany is that they've already had their Donald Trump and learned from it.
I laughedNext they will be taking all our Internet forum posting jobs! Please, no. We don't need people coming here and adopting our work ethic. Nothing will get done.
I have video on my phone of a pretty large and pretty vocal Turkish protest march in Munich during Oktoberfest. I thought they should calm down and go have a few mass, but they were pissed off about something. I couldn't understand them, but one dude was carrying a large Turkish flag.My cousin, who has lived in Germany his entire life, echoed this; yet he and countless other Germans either vacation or own vacation homes in Turkey. It's an odd dynamic. Can't believe it took until post #17.I've been curious to watch how Germany is handling this new influx of immigrants. We have a friend from Germany and last time he was in the states he was telling me how much the Turks are disliked by Germans. He said they were anti-social, didn't want to assimilate, and didn't reign in their children's behavior (lack of respect for others). It's just one man's opinion though, but interesting.Natürlich. Deutschland über alles.
This explains so much. Apparently taking too many brats to the head is on par with the NFL concussion issue concerns.i am from milwaukee and a proud krautmizer when i was a kid my dad used to play a game called pick the schnitzel he would take three or four brats and one kilbassa and hold them in his hands and then we all had to pick one out and whoever got the kilbasa we would all chase that kid around and throw our brats at him and my dad would get a beer from the garage and laugh man those were some good times take that to the bank brathans

Are you really trying to make a case for German sports by pointing out that they're the champs at soccer? The Germans are the defending champs in the world's most popular sport. The design flaw of the secular social-democratic state is that it requires a religious-society birthrate to sustain it. Post-Christian hyperrationalism is, in the objective sense, a lot less rational than Catholicism or Mormonism. Indeed, in its reliance on immigration to ensure its future, the European Union has adopted a 21st-century variation on the strategy of the Shakers, who were forbidden from reproducing and thus could increase their numbers only by conversion.
