Grant may still be reasonable, especially if he's a 3rd/4th back and you could upgrade another position.Problem is most of the guys on these teams are high profile. I would love to be able to swoop in and steal a Marc Bulger for the run but their schedule isn't that great. GB, PIT, AZ.
I have Edge and simply don't know what to do with this guy. He didn't do as well against CIN this week as I expected and I'm not sure if I can rely on him regardless of his creampuff playoff matchups...ughhhh.Looks likes CLE, CIN, AZ, and NE are set up real nice for the playoffs.
Warner seems like a pretty good buy for the run though if you are playing qbbc.I have Edge and simply don't know what to do with this guy. This is what I am talking about. I would also add Berrian to the list if Grossman remains the qb. He has MN and NO.QB Warner (at Seattle,at NO, Atlanta, St. Lou)Anderson (at Jets, Buffalo, at Cincy, SF)Hasselbeck (Arizona, at Carolina, Baltimore, at Atlanta)Favre ( Oakland, at St. Lou, at Chicago, Detroit)Cutler (KC, at Houston, at SD, Minnesota)Palmer (St. Lou, at SF, Cleveland, at Miami)Garcia (at Houston, Atlanta, at SF, Carolina)Brees (at Atlanta, Arizona, Philly, at Chicago)WR Fitzgerald and BoldinEdwards, Winslow and JuriviciusHackett and EngramJennings and DriverMarshall or Javon Walker if you've stashed himChris Henry, to go with TJ and ChadLee Evans also has a decent schedule in (Miami, at Cleveland, Giants, at Philly)GallowayColstonRBRyan Grantthe winner of the Cincy RB job (Watson?)BushDEFTampa Bay (see Garcia's sched)Indianapolis (at Baltimore, at Oakland, Houston, Tennessee)....only problem here is if they rest playersTenneseee (San Diego, at KC, Jets, at Indy)....if Indy's resting guys in week 17, still a sneaky playJacksonville (for the simple fact they play Oakland in week 16..Pittsburgh the week before won't be easy though)New England for obvious reasons and the fact they play (Pittsburgh, Jets, Miami, at Giants)...Week 14 and 17 aren't easy here,Green Bay (Oakland, at St. Lou, at Chicago, Detroit)These are just some of the potential players to target. There are some obvious studs on this list and of course there's guys like Romo and TO, Brady and Moss, etc that you'd go after regardless of schedule. I'm sure there's other players that people will mention as well.
I am looking to matchup someone with Ben as well with the NE, JAC, STL , BAL run at the end of the season. I was thinking Cutler or Grossman.I was thinking about picking up Schaub to go with Big Ben through the playoffs. Now I'm starting to consider Cutler. The matchups are one thing, but then you have to look at the talent around those players. Right now I'm still thinking Schaub>>>>>Cutler.Player - Opp 14-16Schaub - TB, Den, Ind (Talented WR Corp, Avg RB)Cutler - KC, Hou, SD (Injured WR Corp, Above Avg RB - Young)I'm thinking the return of AJ will help increase Schaub's numbers even with the tough matchups. Having Walter and Daniels showing improvement over the season will only help, as he has more weapons to throw to now. Cutler may see a harder time with an easy schedule, as Walker is injured and the running game is up in the air.![]()
I do... he has an easy schedule weeks 14-16. He should excellAnyone have faith in Jamal Lewis. He had 92 and a td vs. Balt, and gets Buf, Cin, and Mia weeks 15-17.
I don't disagree, but when comparing the top players listed above matchups are helpful. For instance. I would much rather have Edge vs. STL in week 17 than McGahee vs. Pitt. If it is possible to trade McGahee for Edge and an upgrade somewhere else that may be a good move if you feel you can make it to week 17. Another example is Jamal Lewis, who has looked good lately and has a great playoff schedule.I specifically brought up the Cle defense in the thread above, who are a great defense but get SF in week 17, who are probably the worst offense in football.I don't think matchups are a good indicator of playoff performance. Consistent performances by players are much more indicative signs of future success.I another post I made up a list of the most consistent RBs right now. I am pasting it here:In making this list I examined the last four weeks for each RB to establish a consistent pattern. I awarded 1 pt for 17 or more carries per week, 1 pt for 75 or more yards per week, and 1 pt for at least one TD for week. Any numbers above these minimums I ignored. The idea is, I will be happy to be able to rely on at least 17 carries, 75 yards, and 1 TD. If I can get that from each of my running backs, I win. There are two lists here: a top ten list for RBs with 4 recent healthy weeks to draw in, and a partial list based on RB's who have started more recently and therefore have a sample of less than 4 weeks.Top ten most consistent RBs based on last 4 weeks:1. Marshawn Lynch (obviously excludes last game.)2. Addai3. MacGahee4. Westbrook5. Grant6. Graham7. Jacobs8. FWP9. LT10. EdgePartial list (based on 2 or 3 games)1.Maurice Morris2. Steven Jackson3. Chatman4. LenDale5. FargasThese are the RBs, therefore, that I would want going into the playoffs...
Gotta say Cutler's performance last night has me second guessing this idea. Marshall and Stokely have proven to be able to carry the load vacated by Walker. I'm starting to lean more towards Cutler now. Hmmmm....I was thinking about picking up Schaub to go with Big Ben through the playoffs. Now I'm starting to consider Cutler.
