Best seats at a pro sports event you've sat in? (1 Viewer)

Sitting in Legends Seats tomorrow at Yankee Stadium directly behind home plate. Supposedly these seats are an experience at a stadium like no other with all inclusive private restaurants, recliner seats, private bathrooms, etc. :superpumped:

What are the best seats you've had at a pro sports event?

I've sat on the fifty yard line and just behind the on deck circle.

Neither compare to the good, economical seats where fans that know and love the sport are sitting. I'd rather have a B level view with A caliber sports people around me than an A+ view and people that are there to schmooze.

Front row behind home plate at Shea. Nothing like it is now to sit there.

Pro shtick would be to move into each another empty seat each half inning.

Once the Sox leave, the Legends seats will be deserted again.

Are you first row? I priced those seats at Citi and the first two rows was like twice the price. (32.5K per seat, had to buy 4).

LOLMets

Ive found Delta front row for the Mets for an individual game as low as $200 against Colorado. Can't find ANY Legends Seats for under $650 a ticket against anyone. I'd imagine front row only dugout to dugout would be at least $1500 per and higher regardless of opponent.

4th row :bag:

What's crazy is I'm fairly sure that the front two rows include booze. So if you are the type that is going to drink a beer an inning, paying $200 for tix isn't that much different than paying 50 a ticket and buying food and six beers.

Sec 223, row 21, seat 3. NFC championship, Philadelphia, Jan 11, 1981.

No alcohol... The seller notes "soft drinks"

I don't think any of these tickets includes booze :kicksrock:

I've sat in seats exactly like this at an Astros game. It was the second game of the year last year, and there might have been 12K in attendance. One of the most pitiful game experiences I've ever been at.

Buddy of mine worked for the radio station which carried Patriots games in the mid-90s. Got a press pass, and spent the whole game standing on the sidelines next to the players. You can't believe the speed of the game from that perspective.

Also took advantage of the press credentials and asked Dan Marino a few questions in Miami's locker room after the game. He was surly as hell. Mark Clayton proudly walked around fully naked in front of female reporters, and removed all doubt as to why they called him "kickstand"...

I once sat courtside, on the foul line, at a clippers/celtics game at staples. Antoine Walker fell into the guy next to me at one point.

Agree with the above, would rather sit b+ with people who know the game

50 yd line row 19 for NFC Championship Game, 49ers/Falcons 2 seasons ago or the club seats for the BCS National Championship Auburn/Oregon game. I'm a ticket broker so it's a bit of a slanted field for me. My season seats I use typically aren't the really high upper end but for a big game if I'm travelling for it I'll work into the high end seats.

I'm more excited about the amenities, food, & experience than the Yankees/Rays in June.

For a one time experience my favorite were seats on the glass in the corner at a NHL game. Hockey in general is the one sport seeing live is so much better than on TV but up close like that was a real rush.

NFL is my favorite sport but I much prefer viewing in the man cave vs live.

Front row around midfield at an Arena Football League game, back when they had a team in Minneapolis. My wife's boss was a former Chicago Bear and Kansas City Chief, and he knew members of the coaching staff (and got us tickets). That was a TON of fun! Hits/tackles so close you'd need to move out of the way as the players crash into the boards in front of you, and the occasional ball coming up into the stands. It's not NFL/NBA/NHL/MLB, but that's the most fun I've ever had at any professional sports event.

all around :goodposting:

1989, 12 rows up, mid-court at the Palace in Detroit. Bought from a scalper a guy sitting in a luxury suite at face-value right before the game.

I've only been to a handful of pro sporting events. Plenty of great seats at college events though.

Sec 113-114, 101, or 126. I've owned way too many to know the Palace diagram in my head

3 rows behind goal judge for Stanley Cup Final Game #3. MTL at LA. 1993. LeClair scored in OT

3 rows and 6 seats to the right of the above for SCF Game #4. MTL at LA 1993. LeClair scored again in OT

12 rows up at the top of the faceoff circle. (season tix) Game 5 SCF 2007. Ott at LA. Selanne was handed the Cup and skated right towards us.

Best game I have ever been to live was a playoff hockey game. Ponied up for eighth row behind the goal at the Joe for an elimination game. The only bad part about it is I haven't done it again since.

I have no clue. We physically grabbed the guy when we noticed the stubs were already ripped off. He said to follow him and went past a security guard in through a kitchen/back way? Did the Palace also have a hotel?

front row, visitors on deck circle at old Tiger stadium. Circa 1990 or so against Oakland. We heckled Rickey Henderson, and he dished it right back.

Those are good seats. My dad used to be able to get those for $5 with the senior discount once in a while. They'd just put people down there to fill it up on TV.

My favorite experience was the same section at Dodgers Stadium. Best seats ever. Second row, no one in front of me, so I could have moved up. Had the private chef going in the back and a waiter who would get whatever we wanted, beer, wine, either fancy food or concessions like Dodger Dogs & Icees. They were on the visitor side, the first set of seats with no net in front of us, so we had to pay attention to every pitch. We were at eye level with the catcher in his crouch. It was basically like being on the field. It was a section of six seats. To the left of my seat was the visitor's on-deck circle.

Next to us was Rob Reiner & one of his kids. After the third inning, Robert Wuhl came and sat with Rob in our box. He was Arli$$. All the ballplayers knew him, so each guy would take a few practice swings and then chat with him for a bit. Got to meet pretty much the entire Diamondbacks lineup.

They weren't the best seats, but the season Griffey went to Cincy me and a couple guys made a road trip and got front-row center field tickets. There's def. something to be said about sitting close enough to interact.

Three rows behind one of the benches for the 1996 Final Four at the Meadowlands, the last one to be played at an arena.

The week before, I was sitting front row sideline right by the baseline when UMass beat Georgetown at the Georgia Dome. Spike Lee was sitting behind the hoop a few feet away.

As for pro, I've moved down into the second row between the backstop and the dugout for a couple of games ... one at Fenway and one in Montreal. In the latter one, the two women who had the tickets showed up with mixed drinks in hand with two out in the bottom of the eighth. We moved over two seats and finished the game.

Centerfield Bleachers at Game 6 of last years world series at Fenway (and I have season diamond club Phillies tix) great experience, unmatchable by anything else in my life.

This reminded me  I was in the CF stands at Anaheim Stadium when Dave Henderson hit the HR in 1986.

Somewhere in the NBA thread, there is a picture of me sitting in the front row of a Warriors-Knicks game. Mike D'Antoni kept walking in front of me. But I decided it was in my best interest not to tell him to get the heck out of my way

I used to have dinner at jerry buss' table at the forum club, be led thru the bowels of the forum to his private box. Dinner was on him. And. Free drinks all night. Stat reports every quarter. And all this was during the show time era.

I had 50-yard line, 12th row seats to the Super Bowl but when we got there it turned out the tickets were printed on some sort of cracker.

I sat right next to Jimmy Carter at a Braves game last week.

But I still don't think it beats front row at Cameron Stadium.

Sat on my couch for the. 2004 Super Bowl. Open stocked bar, case of cold beer, DVR to stop action, ability to surf porn, could lay down and relax, private bath, parking pass right next to door, halftime sex....

I sit in the legen suites a couple times a year. Food before the game is awesome, the dining area has a ton of good food. Andyou can order free food throughout the game. Definitely bring your appetite.
