BETA Testers needed for Mobile Draft Dominator (1 Viewer)

Name: Borden

Occupation: Construction

Devices: iPhone 5, iPad (both 3rd and 4th gen)

Interests: football, fantasy football, camp fires on the beach, camping, motorcycles, making love

Technical Experience: none

Why am I the perfect match?

As someone with limited experience with FBG Apps (bought the iPad magazine last August and used it until early September) and no technical experience I may be able to give you a different perspective on things than perhaps the tech wizards and grizzled old vets. If you still choose to "go a different direction" just know that you'll be missing out on a high character guy that can bring the locker room and team together.

Sincerely,

- Borden

I would really be honored to help your team with this product.

Last year was my first season with football guys and I was very impressed with the content. I would like nothing more than t help you improve.

Qualifications-

- I am an intelligence analyst for the US Army. I feel this gives me a unique perspective on the analytical aspect of drafting and drafting tools that may be useful to your team.

- I am an avid fantasy football player, and year around consumer of football knowledge.

- I am involved in a multitude of leagues

- last year I participated in over 200 mock drafts before my dynasty league draft in early July. This year I plan for more. All this practice will give me ample opportunity to test your product.

I would be using an iPad to test the app.

Thank you for your consideration.

I was a beta tester last year that provided feedback and would love to help out again.

Can test on an Android Motorola Atrix HD

I was an eager user last year and felt like the app was the best resource out there for draft preparation. I'd love to contribute and could take it through lots of reps. I primarily use an iPhone 5s and could also access a 4s.

My favorite football guys,

I would love to help you guys out.

My Devices:

  • Google Nexus 10, running latest version of android
  • Access to tons of mobile simulators
My Background:

  • Client Side Programming - HTML, JS, CSS, jQuery
  • Server Site Programming - PHP, Coldfusion, MySQL
  • Wordpress
  • Long time listener to your podcasts!
  • I code and test things for my job
Thanks for the invite!

I would be interested in partcipating in the beta test. I have beta tested multiple applications in my career, as well as a diehard FF player where it's a year around sport for me, as well as a back ground in software development and testing experience.

I have multiple versions of the ipad as well as the Galaxy S4.

Thanks

Andy

I would love to try the beta out.

I have a iPhone 5S

I have all FBG iPhone apps and already have some idea on how those could be better. I have always looked for someone to put out a VBD draft software app but I could never find one. I don't have any programming experience but I am a intense fantasy football fan and I take it very seriously. I would use the beta over and over with different mock drafts. 2QB. IDP. Standard. And what I play most... 2QB IDP. I would give a lot of feedback and do my best to push the app to its limits. I would be honored to be included in the beta test.

Thank you for your time and effort.

-Josh

Count me in. I would love to help out. I have an iPhone 5

What I would bring is an eye for design. I don't do testing as part of my job however I do application design work. I don't know code but know what code can do. I have played around with many apps and know when it's designed good and what could be improved. The biggest asset I can bring is letting you know if you tried to be too fancy in your design and misses the purpose. I have seen many projects fail because the got too fancy without adding real value to the overall design.

I tested last year and would be interested in helping again this year.

I use a Samsung Galaxy S4 and a Google Nexus 7.

Hi, I'd love to help!

Devices: I can test on an iPhone 5 and iPad Mini Retina. Also Amazon Fire TV running side loaded apps under Android KitKat, but somehow I doubt that one is high on your UAT priority list.

What I bring: I'm a web software product manager by trade and can get as down and dirty with bugs and usability issues as you like and/or can stomach. Also I've been a subscriber since 2000 and have used/loved/hated nearly every app you've published, from VBD XLS (use) to Draft Dominator to Trade Dominator to Top 200 with Yahoo API integration (love) to the iPad draft app (hate). Oh and I believe in what you guys do and how you do it.

Thanks for considering me. You guys are the best.

I might as well throw my hat into the ring. I would love to help beta test this app and have multiple devices to test it on. I have an iPhone 4, iPad 2, iPad Mini, and a Kindle Fire.

I used the Draft GM 2013 app last year, and have also used Draft Dominator for several years, so I know the software. I have been playing fantasy football for many years, and currently play in a redraft league, a keeper league, and a dynasty league (including IDP) so I would be testing the app from all those angles.

I program for a living and have been doing so for 25 years. I predominantly use Java, but also know C++ and Objective C. A large part of my job is testing and bug fixing so I know how to test and how to break things, as well as how to write up detailed bug reports. I have also written my own draft board software that I used to use in several leagues to track live drafts (before moving to Draft Dominator), so I think that knowledge would be beneficial as well.

I will help in any way I can - always good to give back to the guys who helped me go 3 for 3 in league wins last year!

Al

Count me in. I tested last year and had a great time with it.... Think my input helped make the Draft GM app a better product.

I can test on:

Google Nexus 10

Samsung Galaxy S4

Thanks for the consideration!

Name: Angel

I work as Consumer Technology Market Analyst for a large tech company. Have been a beta tester several times for iOS apps in the past.

Devices: iPhone 5S and iPad Mini

Very interested in beta testing the app.

Would love to help out. iPad 4 here.

I've been a bug user of Draft Dominator in the past and putting it through the tests. Long time subscriber too.

I would be happy to help test!

Devices - Iphone 5, iPad mini

I'm also a developer (websites and apps). I'm very use to designing and evaluating interfaces.

I would love the opportunity to help refine and test (break?!) the beta version of the app. I can test on iPhone 5 and iPad devices. I have strong excel skills and have created my own vbd model in prior years (fbg model is much less work to use!). I am an avid fantasy football player, advanced stat user and fbg devotee. I welcome the opportunity to help move the app(s) forward as they were a great help last year. Especially the length of touchdown variable point interface which I sent feedback for inclusion in last year's app. In any event, I welcome the opportunity to help. Thanks for the consideration and best of luck.

Long time subscriber who really wants to use a great FBG app:

  • Devices: Nexus 7 latest Andorid OS, iPad2 latest iOS, iPhone5S //picked up most of these on league winnings ;)
  • Experienced at testing apps--running them though their paces, then communicating results
  • Football and UX lover
  • Warning -- I'm picky about UIs down to the pixel

I would be happy to participate and give feedback. My platform is a IPad Mini and I am a big believer in DD for Windows.

For full disclosure I am not a IT professional by any means however I am a fake football junkie that basically mocks all year round. I will find the bugs.

I tested last year (submitted quite a few trouble tickets). Would like to do it again.

I have:

Samsung Galaxy S2 (android 4.4.2)

Moto Atrix 4G (android 4.2)

Moto Xoom tablet (android 4.2)

I am rooted and rom'ed and ready to go.

I am interested in helping as well.

Device: IPad - 1st gen, IPhone 4s, (soon to be named tablet)

Experience: 1 year of using FBG products for PC and IPad, every spreadsheet for daily leagues, beta testing software since 1989

I was one of the beta testers from last year and would like to participate again this year if possible.

Device availability;

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition running Kit Kat 4.4.2

What I bring to the table;

Applications Architect for a Global Logistics company.
My daily responsibilities are inclusive of working within the SDLC framework from conception, discovery and design through to deployment.

Needless to say we do exhaustive testing against test scripts and edge cases.

Thanks in advance for your consideration

Everyone,

We will be sending out a survey today/tonight to have you fill out. Not many questions, but it's going to help us break the testers into groups. Some aspects of the testing will be starting as early as this Wednesday night. If you remain serious about helping us, make sure to fill out this survey quickly. We will be assigning the teams first come - first served.

If interested, please respond in this thread (or send a PM to David Dodds) with the following:

- Devices that you can test on

- What you would bring to the team
I can test on an iPad Mini 2 and an iPhone 5S.

I am a web developer with a marketing background allowing me the understanding of how to best develop apps to meet customers' needs.

I have also commissioned multiple leagues with multiple formats for the last several years and so will be able to stress test the app under a variety of conditions. I have also been an FBG user for the last 2 years and love everything you guys put out.

Look forward to helping!

I was a tester last year and can test on both Android (Galaxy S3) and iPhone 5S (personal and work phone).

David, will you be notifying those of us who are NOT chosen to help with the testing? No complaints if not chosen, just wondering if there will be follow-up if you don't need everyone's help who offered.

We are dividing things into teams so everyone is not testing all at once. If you filled out the survey, we will be getting with you for testing

I'm currently testing and have come across some minor things that are more of annoyances than real bugs (I've reported). But man, this is one really sweet app. VERY powerful. I haven't tried it for anything except mocks so far, but it's really great. By far the greatest app or program I've ever seen for drafting.

There is one thing that they don't have and as far as I know only one company does have that puts it at another level though. The ability to live sync with an online draft. FantasyPros has this and it's incredible for live snake drafts. You don't have to waste time entering in other peoples picks because it does it all automatically. You can spend the time preparing for your next pick.

How does Fantasy Pros know who they (the rest of your league) are drafting?

You log in to the platform you are using through their site and they have the ability to sync up in real time. I've used it the past 2 years and it's incredible, especially for live online drafts. FBG has the ability to sync to your league in the myFBG page which is great for in-season management to see who is available, but they don't have any way to sync while drafting as far as I know.

For FantasyPros, you can try it and do mocks for free to see if you like it, but it costs $15 for the Pro version which allows you to customize cheat sheets and then an extra $5 per platform that you want to live sync with. Considering I use Yahoo and MFL, I'm in $25/year but IMO, totally worth it. I just hope FBG can add in a similar feature so I can stop paying FantasyPros for it.

Can we create a beta testing forum board(not this thread in the shark pool)? Different topics for different draft styles. I think it would help testers find and recreate bugs that need reporting, or small programmatic suggestions to add prior to a live launch
