Big game for Adibi this week? (1 Viewer)

- Packers will probably the run ball a lot with Grant and Jackson against Houston's poor run D, accounting for Lambeau weather.

- Greenwood, his main competitor, is dealing with an injury and is currently backing up the three LB positions... Adibi is the starter as well as the future for next year, whereas Greenwood might be a cap cut this offseason.

- 14 solos three weeks ago... he's bound to have another big game.

Last week's 4-1 game vs. the Jags is somewhat worrisome, but that's why this is a sleeper pick. Anyone else like Adibi's potential this week?

I like Adibi this week, but not for same reason. I'm feeling there's a good chance Houston will be in nickel often. Weather should be nice, cold but dry.

Not too worried by his 4-1-0 last week even with 54 tackle ops, top four tacklers were all DBs. OLBs have not been a good matchup vs Jax all year.

Now WTS... OLBs vs Green Bay isn't off the charts, but is better. I don't expect double digits solos or anything like he put up on Indy, but 7-8 seems reasonable, with a couple assist. Houston in blitzing more, so maybe he could luck into a sack, FF or FR.

I'm with Larry here. The common factor with the GB and Indy matchup is the likelihood that Adibi can roam in space in the nickel without any competition other than Ryans for tackles. However, I'm more bugged about his most recent effort. Part of the reason the DBs got so many tackles is that Adibi was trying to arm tackle more than he had in previous weeks, reacting more slowly to underneath passing routes and generally loafing it to the ball at times. The matchup is well above-average, but I'm still trying to decide if I want to trust him in a key lineup this week.

I thought he and DeMeco's tackling was sub par last week. Jene makes a good point, I still like him though. This week should shed more light for us about Adibi down the stretch.

I watched Adibi last week after I traded Channing Crowder straight up for him the week before. I was covering my eyes for most of the game, he looked horrible. He whiffed on 2 big tackles up by the line of scrimage and then was tip-toeing up at the end of plays much of the game. He looked like he was a DB instead of a LB. I'm hoping he gets his head out of his ### tomorrow and at least turns in an effort.

You can only hope when they watch the film, he recognizes/accepts his poor performance, adjusts accordingly, and steps up his play. I’m sure coaches pointed it all out.Missing too many easy tackles was a knock on him coming out, but never seen anything saying lack of effort was a concern. With Houston blitzing more, things may have gotten a little complex for him and he has to think too much. Understanding the complexities of a defensive scheme was another knock on him coming out, however probably nothing that reps won’t cure. He was a fourth rounder for a reason. We’ll see how he responds this week.

We have about 2-3 inches of very light snow, not the wet kind and it's supposed to be gone tomorrow.

Thanks for the weather update! I read it's supposed to be dry Sunday with temps in the mid to upper teens. Is this accurate?

between watching the texans/jags and vikes/bears game last weekend its hard to say who had a worse game for tackling between Adibi or Lance Briggs. Adibi at least touched the ball carrier on many of his whiffs and his problems seem correctable. at least 5x i think Lance was juked out of his jock when he came in for his patented knockout blows on ADP.

Is this guy a piece of dung or what? I may outright drop him even though TN is coming up....anybody feel the same? I might be in the conference championships next weekend and can't afford a stinker from this guy.

No. He looked OK yesterday. If anyone is relying on a rookie with Ryans playing next to him I would say you have had a lot of injury problems. It may be better to look elsewhere. Like Bishop if available.

I play in a 16-team league with 3 starting LB and 1 defensive flex each week. I'll check out Bishop thanks.

After watching game, I was surprised to see Adibi had only three solos, hope to take a look at game again today. Houston had the ball better then eight minutes more than the Pack, limiting Texans to 42 tackle ops. Kinda figured it to be other way around. Adibi didn't stand out.

I watched the first half, will try to get to 2nd half later. Adibi started at sam and played sam in the base defense with Bentley at will. Gamebooks lists Adibi WLB, but he looked like SLB to me. BTW... seen three solos out of him in the first half, so he must of been shutout in the 2nd.

I'm not sure at what point it happened, but Greenwood replced Adibi, first noticed at the start of the 2nd half.

Adibi was replaced by Morlon Greenwood in the middle of the third series of the 2nd quarter at the 7:08 mark. It didn’t appear to be injury related, Adibi was getting washed out on almost every play. Adibi was consistently lining up on the strong-side. Greenwood played in the nickel.

Adibi has a groin injury and is questionable to play in the final two weeks.
Outside linebacker Xavier Adibi injured his groin and might not be able to return before the season ends.

Adibi was injured halfway through the game Sunday and was replaced by former starter Morlon Greenwood.
That nickel note is interesting; I'd have guessed it would be Bentley.

The last play for Adibi was in coverage and he went out of the picture on the bottom of the screen. I would have thought it was Benley also. I still have some of the second half I haven't looked at good, but was a few Greenwood series in and he was still in nickel.
