Big Ten Basketball 2022/2023 - Return to Power (2 Viewers)

Where's that dope you said the beating the Gophers was a quality win?
I'm assuming you are referencing me, except you last called me a nerd. At NO point have I ever said that beating MN was a quality win. Losing to them (in overtime, at the Barn) is not a bad loss though IMHO (which I did say). A loss to a top 50 team is not considered a bad loss (again IMHO). You can certainly feel that your Gophers are worse than top 50, or are a bad loss to anybody that loses to them. You really are a bitter lil' Gopher aren't you?

Bucky and Buckeyes took care of business tonight. Good to see both of them be able to go for the jugular and not allow lesser teams into the game.

Yes, yes I am.

Also, I do understand RPI, good losses, bad losses, good wins, etc. better than most and I know that losing to Minnesota at home is not a bad loss according to all that jazz. I just hate everything right now. Probably going to go light something on fire. brb.

Shot to the balls.
Kind of looked like Zeller may have pulled Nix's hand into him, trying to buy the call.
:goodposting:
Watch it again without your MSU goggles on. Zeller is holding onto Nix, Nix doesn't like it so he smacks Zeller in the junk. Zeller doesn't pull his arm that hard. Seriously, why are people making a stink about this? It doesn't help that I live in MI and make the mistake of listening to local talk radio on the ride home from work. They've spent way too much time talking about this stupid thing.

It really doesn't matter which team you are a fan of, if you're honest. If Zeller were doing that on purpose you would have seen some sort of evidence like flexing arm muscles or anticipation on his face. It's not there. His hand is on Nix's arm but it's just along for the ride as Nix decides to give him a quick "howyadoin?".

I'm posting this, to hopefully have you not hate everything, but fear it will add to the fire you've already started (likely in your neighbor's backyard). If that doesn't work, a kitty cat pyramid should

CBS is doing an online poll on who the best player is....Victor Oladipo is running away with it. Followed by Burke and Zeller.

No horse in this race for me, and while I wouldn't say "clear as day" it certainly seems like Zellar is the one trying to pull this off moreso than Nix is intentionally whacking Zellar in the balls.

Illinois is giving UM a tough run here. UM has really seemed to have lost their mojo since Wisconsin hit that crazy buzzer beater. They just aren't playing with the same intensity or confidence.

Jordan Morgan is back to form and Michigan's mojo is with it. Illinois is now the team that looks sluggish and uninspired.

Appling's play single-handedly causes the Spartans to lose again. Need more Trice and less of Appling until he can get his crap together

Appling is a really good player, but he just doesn't seem to have "it". He always looks nervous and tentative, and he seems to struggle in the big moments more often than not. I hope I'm wrong about him, because MSU needs him to take charge if they're going to make any kind of tournament run.

These past 4 games should quiet all the Appling going pro talk, and probably Dawson too.

Also going back to last year, he just doesn't ever to seem to hit a clutch 3.Last 4 games8-39 from the field, 13 TOs, 7 assists, and 2-19 from 3

Some rumblings that Oladipo could end up being the first pick in the draft. I have never seen a player rise like this. From a bench player on a crappy team his Freshman year, to a decent role player on a decent team last year, to the most outstanding player on the best team this year. That just does not happen.

IU at MN this Tue. was looking like a great matchup earlier in the year when a client invited me to go and I chose that game. Low expectations now but I hope it's at least watchable and not a total :tfp: . Still fun nonetheless vs #1.

Frosty might quit watching basketball altogether if The Golden Gopher loses

:goodposting:Hopefully he can get out of this performance slump before Tourney time. I really like how the rest of the team is coming together though.

I'll be there as well.I'm hoping for some old school Clem Haskins luck in making it a game. I remember the days back in college when we'd go to IU games, and no matter how good either team was, it was a great game to be at. Just hoping for a game that isn't over by half time. The barn will be rockin tonight.

The game at Bloomington was over by halftime, except it wasn't. I don't think a lot of IU fans are taking this one as an automatic win. I'm certainly not.

IU fan here and I'm worried because it's a B1G road game. That alone is or should be cause for concern. Positive factors for IU are that they've had plenty of time to prepare for the game and a win wraps up the regular season championship. I expect they'll be ready. Lets hope for a good game without injuries.

I heard Tubby brought in a sports psychologist so maybe the frame of mind will be better.

Does the sports psychologist teach offensive theory?

:lmao: I think the offensive theory should be Hollins, Hollins or Mbakwe jacking shots before having a chance to commit turnovers. Coleman and Dre need to attack the lane too. What do they have to lose? Shoot!!!We'll see what Rodney can do off the shoulder injury. Tubby apparently praised him for leadership this week. Hoping he doesn't try to "take over" by shooting three's.

Good game by the Gophers. Their big whitey was better than IU's. And Watford was nonexistent until a minute to go. He's working his way down the NBA draft boards IMO.

Huge win for the Gophers tonight  So far Bucky is taking care of business. Not a bad start for the Freshman :shock:edited to add: Decker scored 19 on 6 shots, going 5-6 from the floor (4-5 for 3's) and 5-6 from the line...off the bench (24 minutes). I have to think that Bo is trying to keep the kid from burning out, and plans to use him much more in March.

Gopher game was the best game I've seen in person, any sport any venue. That place was rocking. I love the barn.Oladipo and Zeller looked pretty pedestrian. Dipo had some points, but its not like he dominated the game.
