Northwesterns 7 big 10 wins are against... PSUx2, ILL, Iowa, MSU, Nebraska, Minn I count one quality win there. Northwestern is what they always are.
I agree with you. I think they are solidly in the group behind UK, UNC, and syracuse. KU, MIzzou, Duke, and MSU are who I would put in the second tier. I think there is a decent sized gap between tier 1 and 2 though.

UK appears to be the best team in the country, but I'll play Devil's advocate and say that the SEC is not near as good of a conference as everyone expected.UNC under Roy Williams routinely skates through the regular season not playing D, and then decide to turn it up come tourney time. We'll have to wait and see. The talent is there.Syracuse is a fraud IMO. Typical Boeheim cake schedule in the pre-conference and the Big East is down significantly this year.Missouri is a good team, but come tournament time, the TV timeouts and advertisements tend to be a ##### for the "running" teams nowadays. I like Kansas. I'm not sure there is a coach in the country who gets better isolation sets on his post offense than Bill Self. And, Self doesn't deviate from his game plan just because it's not working in the 1st half. Duke... Their weakness is against athletic teams... will depend on match-ups.
I dont think whatever gap you're talking about is that sizable on a neutral court.
I'd take MSU over Duke, Missouri and Syracuse, and maybe North Carolina. North Carolina is the toughest team to read for me... for reasons I stated above.
I didn't hear that, but not surprised. I try to look at things as the glass being half full, so maybe this will be the "Come to Jesus" moment and guys will start listening. I don't know about you, but I was the biggest Sullinger fan in the world coming in because I liked his style of play.... now, I see a guy who hasn't really improved his game other than the 3 point shot, which means nothing to Ohio State. I was glad to see Matta jerk him after he started whining to the refs 2 minutes into the game. Seriously. You have no credibility when you whine to the refs 2 minutes into the game. Matta jerked him quick and he sat for an extended period of time and I noticed that he bit his tongue the rest of the game.Very entertaining game but a terrible loss by the Buckeyes. TOs in the 1st half and missed FTs in the 2nd half. Look like a completely different team from the one in November. Can see them getting bounced in the quarters or semis of the B1G tourney easily.
ETA: Matta threw the team out of practice yesterday. Not a good sign with March right around the corner.

They are basically a slightly less talented version of UofM. Shoots the three and plays decent defense. My initial thought is that MSU drops this one, but wins at home against ohio. I know Crean really wants this one, bad.
Should be a great game. Would love to see IU pull this one out but can't see it with the way MSU has been playing lately.
These are the types of games State can have a let down in. Believe me, I hope they do win it tonight so that there is no share for the Title, would love for Sunday's game with ohio to be meaningless. State does have a lot of mo right now and seems to be firing on all cylinders (especially the defense), but Indy playing at home is always tough. Throw in the fact that Crean is an Izzo protege rebuilding the program, this has the makings of a potential of another signature win for his program at this juncture.State always seems to have a hiccup along the way when they put together a long series of wins. Hopefully those hiccups were the 2 earlier 1-pt loses @ UM and @ IL.
Do you happen to know if Nix is fully healthy? I heard he had some ankle trouble, but it sounded like it was nothing that would keep him from playing? I think if he is limited or can't play 100% that hurts MSU a great deal.

I doubt he'll miss any bit of his normal rotation.These guys are totally taking their cues from Izzo, no mention of a Big Ten Title in the locker room right now, from what I've read. The want the outright title, that's what Izzo is preaching. Interestingly, if they do win the outright title, Draymond Green and Austin Thornton would be the only two players in school history to win two outright championships (it would be MSU's 6th outright, and 14th overall).

As a glass half full guy, this is what I was looking for from Matta. He jerked Buford against Michigan and gave him a tongue lashing and jerked Sullinger early today. Send a message.
It would be nice if any of the bench guys could come in and put the ball in the hoop. Ravenel, Scott, and Thompson are blanks on the offensive end.
