Big Ten Basketball 2022/2023 - Return to Power (2 Viewers)

Big win for Michigan on the road at Minnesota last night.

Its going to be a struggle without McGary. And last night, GR3 went down early in the second half. Good win.
Unimpressed by my Gophers last night. I know you can't be good at everything in basketball, but I don't really know what the Gophers are supposed to be good at right now. Individually they are talented, but their pieces don't seem to fit very well together.

Was Nigel Hayes seriously recruited by OSU or did they not care much about him? He looks like a typical Wisconsin player. Works hard, four year guy. If he develops his game a bit, will be all big ten someday.

It is going to be a tough year for UM without McGary. I am not sure they can rely on Zak Irvin hitting 5 three pointers every game. I hope he is able to diversify his game a bit more.

Very nice win for MSU at Indiana. Gary Harris had an amazing game.

Probably good to make the trip to Bloomington early in the conference schedule as I think Indiana will get better. They have a lot of talent, but Jesus do they commit a lot of really stupid turnovers.

Didn't get to see the game, but looked like MSU pretty much dominated the whole game. Izzo is the man.

I hope you are right about IU. We'll get to see what Crean can do this year, the team right now is not very good.

They have zero post players who can score so they're a jump shooting team. When the jumpers aren't falling it's going to get ugly at times.

They recruited him and his brother played football for OSU but then he transferred to Toledo and I think that pretty much shut the door for the Buckeyes.

Didn't notice this until I saw it on twitter about 30 minutes ago. Indiana freshman Luke Fischer is transferring to Marquette because he's homesick.

Terrible first half by the Badgers at home tonight, but they escape with a good win against Iowa after Fran McCaffery gets a double T/ejection and the momentum swings Bucky's way midway through the second half.

This is the best I've seen of a Spartan squad so early in the season for a long time. They are very multidimensional on offense and have really jelled as a TEAM right now. Lots of solid role players filling their roles. Barring any major injuries, I like our chances at a long tourney run a lot this year.

Crean seems to be a better recruiter than a coach. Last year's team talent wise ranked up there with the great Indiana teams. Should have made the final four at the very least.

It's going to get really ugly at practice in EL this week. In the post-game presser, Izzo was pretty irate. Unforgiveable to give up that big of a lead at home. We looked totally lost for the last 6-8 minutes last night. Would not want to be Denzel Valentine or Branden Dawson this week. oof. Heroic effort by AP and another solid performance (except for the botched pass at the end of regulation) by Appling. Ugly win in the end, but a win nonetheless.

2 for 2 Spartans wrecking Buckeye perfect records over the past month or so.

I didn't like how Izzo pulled out the "Wisconsin" game plan with 6 minutes to go...

I understand you have a big lead and you need to use some clock, but that just killed every bit of momentum they had and let OSU right back in it...

Well that, and that annoying little ####er Craft...

Craft and Scott make quite a duo on the defensive end. Usually we're talking about tall defenders with statements like that.

Even though Ross and Smith were having tough games, I think one of them should have been on the floor during some of the OT in place of Loving. Couldn't take Thompson out last night. Thad wanted to see what he has in Loving I suppose.

Yeah wasn't sure about Loving in there either.

Thought Thompson was going to slam that miss at the end of regulation but Payne tipped it at the last second. Hell of a game though.

Yeah, Craft is a little *******. I'd absolutely love the guy if he were on my team.

Not being a particular fan of either MS or OSU, that was a great game to watch last night. I'm a big fan of Craft. He seems to get the Favre treatment from the announcers (he can do no wrong) which can be annoying, but I love the way he plays.

and the defensive superstar treatment from the refs.

Not an OSU fan in the least, but I can't help but like Craft. I get a little annoyed when he is playing against my team, but I still respect his effort. He's the type of kid I would love to have on my team.

I have a 12 and 10 year old who play basketball. You can't control how much talent they have, but I try to encourage them to play as hard and smart as Craft does.

I think Michigan is a lot better than people think, even after the loss of McGary. Three of their four losses were a two-point loss to #1 Arizona, and fairly close games on the road at Duke and Iowa State. They are probably in that second tier with Illinois and Iowa.

This is a big signature win for Iowa. Their first win against a top 15 team since 2001.

Their 3 losses are by an average of 4 points against #8 Villanova, #9 Iowa St., and #4 Wisconsin who have a combined record of 45-2.

Iowa really outplayed Wisconsin at Madison and coulda shoulda woulda won but for Mccaffery losing his mind.

Methinks your tiers are off

Second tier with who?
