In all seriousness, because of the way the NBA rookie contracts are currently structured, it only makes sense for guys like Trimble and Layman to go pro if they are locks to be picked in the first round. First round picks get guaranteed three year contracts, whereas second rounders get nothing guaranteed. I don't know enough about this year's talent pool to say where they might fall.

If Trimble keeps improving, he just might make it to first round status. One thing I think he would need work with at the next level is his passing and ball handling. He gets the ball stripped more than the NBA would probably like to see, although the talent is obviously there, as we can see from the ankle breaking move to close the first half last night.

Some mock drafts should start coming out soon, and while they likely won't include Melo or Sunshine, we might be able to figure out where they would slot in.

Twerps have Indiana next. I haven't seen them yet. What should Terps fans look for out of the Hoosiers?

Hoosiers can shoot the three a bit and have some good players but are totally inconsistent and have no big men. They can play really well but so far have only done it in short spurts. I'd think they'd be underdogs on the road to most decent teams.

I doubt Melo or Layman go. Neither player has elite size or athleticism nor a consistent enough stroke. Another year to get bigger and stronger will help them both improve their draft stock a lot.

Tough call, this definitely increases the chances he comes back. I think he has a lot to prove still but that usually doesn't stop these guys from declaring.@draftexpress just said he will be healthy in time for predraft workouts and is a lock for the first round. He said it is a weak year for guards and Levert is easily one of the best and most versatile. So, I assume he is gone.

I think Maryland was in Bloomington 5-6 years ago for the conference challenge game during Crean's rebuilding years. So you probably already have a sense for this, but Bloomington, IN is an incredibly tough road venue.

Considering this team was going nowhere anyways, perhaps this will force someone to step up. This has been the most disappointing Michigan team under Beilein.

Maryland's perimeter, on the other hand, is as good and deep as most any in the nation. Layman is a matchup nightmare when he comes to play. Trimble everyone knows about. Dez Wells still isn't right after missing all of that time, but he's a tough nut for a defender. Pack & Nickens are the keys, IMO. If one or both of them are on, it makes MD very hard to defend the whole game.

Since you were saying you don't know much about the Hoosiers here's names to watch: Yogi Ferrell, James Blackmon, and Troy Williams. Troy Williams in particular has been doing some crazy things lately, super athletic. Ferrell is most experienced player and probably most consistent, usually good for a big shot at some point in game when momentum is going wrong direction. Blackmon has really smooth shot and game in general. Best shooter and probably best player on the team but he is just a Freshman.

If they are getting points from Robert Johnson, another Freshman, things are going well for them.
