We've known McNair was goin to come for quite some time...the question is, which WR do you guys think gets a better upgrade and why?

Mason will.....here is what he did with McNair......2004 96 1168 7

2003 95 1303 8

2002 79 1012 5

2001 73 1128 9

the problem with using these numbers is that Mason was the most talented WR on the roster the last time him and McNair were together. That isn't the case anymore.

An interesting question, but Mason still had 86-1073-3 last year. He is entering his 10th year in the league whereas Clayton is in his 2nd. I would imagine it would benefit Clayton more, but Mason has been the model of consistency. How high is Mason's ceiling? How high is Clayton's?

I think Clayton will see the bigger bump-up. Even w/o McNair, Mason still totalled 86-1073 last year.

McNair (unlike Boller) has the experience and talent to check-down from Mason/Heap to Clayton. Boller seemed to have problems when he was forced to switch his focus to a new WR intra-play.

Clayton should have no problem eclipsing 800 yards in '06. Mason should net his typical 1000-1100, while Heap should nab another 800-900.

Considering McNair is just joining the team now (with considerably less than a full offseason), I think, at least initially, it benefits Mason as the guy he's used to throwing to.

That's what I was figuring also.Additionally, I figure Clayton to be somewhat screwed now. I think McNair keys on Mason first, then Heap (as TEN had/has a propensity to go to their TEs) and Clayton a distant third.
