what was the biggest change to happen in your life?

was it your first love? a parent's divorce?

OR WAS IT WHEN YOU LEARNED TO GROW DA #### UP? what's been your biggest change?

how have you changed?

4th grade and a good buddy's dad died so I had to be there for this get together, he was Jewish, lots of food and he wasn't allowed to use electronics so we found some wonderful reading materials his father left behind. A porno stash that would make Larry Flynt blush. I had never seen a grown woman before and it was quite the education that day. We didn't come up out of that room for hours, trying to figure a way to get one of these back home...

Did you experiment any?

Wife and kid within the span of about 4 months.  Coincided with the time that I became a really boring poster here.

When my best friend's Dad got shot and killed in a drug deal when I was 12.  Looking back at it my Dad knew my buddy's dad was caught up in that stuff, and that event expedited our families exodus from Detroit (along with the garage break ins that pissed my Dad off to no end).  Still saddens me today at many levels.

Giving up drugs after being a daily user for close to 20 years.  Getting married and having kids is right up there and the latter was the reason for the former.

Going through a divorce and being disowned by my mother and entire family over it. They're the righteous, catholic type who frown upon things like that. Even though my parents should've divorced and my mother even talked to me about doing so when I was 12.  I watched my mother physically and verbally abuse my father and us throughout my childhood.  Never been the same since, huge hole left in me. I have absolutely zero contact with them and it's them that continue to want that, it's as if 15+ people just died at once.

My parents moving from NY to Dallas when I was 18 and I stayed here. Both good and bad, lots of struggles, but I'm happy where I am today.

Kids, obviously.  But I always wanted to be a dad so while it was a major change, it was a change I'd been expecting most of my life.

A little more than a year ago I quit my job and went to work at a startup.  Sitting in a cubicle at an insurance company, with a wife and two young kids and a mortgage to pay, etc., I never imagined I'd do something like that.  Now I can't imagine ever going back to a more traditional company.  Arguably an even bigger change than having kids, because it was totally unexpected and completely changed the way I view myself, my work, my future.

I'm so sorry man.

Hoping they will come around.

Meanwhile, try to live your life well.

My life will never be the same after discovering the proper aerodynamics of throwing a Ritz cracker.

Thx, appreciate it.  I have done just that. It's been almost 6 years, I've remarried, have a 21 month old and baby girl on the way.  Just sucks whenever I think about it.

Buying a house. That really slammed home that I was an adult with adult responsibilities. It's one thing being 15 and mowing the lawn for your parents because you have to as opposed to mowing your own lawn and actually giving a #### about details like insulation, tree trimming,  caulking and all the other stuff that I always thought my dad was crazy for being so concerned about.

Having a kid is the easy answer. Nothing compares to that.

Aside from that, I went from being a hard-core Republican/Libertarian to being a Liberal Democrat. It would take too long to explain how this happened, but it was a huge awakening for me and changed the way I look at the world.

Oh, and finding out that there's a little arrow on the car speedometer that tells you which side your gas tank cap is on.

Finally being able to embed pics.

Having kids. Nothing else compares remotely. Not having siblings born, not having parents divorce, not moving, not changing jobs, not homeownership....

When my cousin and I found my grandpas porn stash on the top of his closet. He had so many that we knew he wouldnt miss few.  I managed to grab an 8hr vhs that featured all the classics like Marlyn Chambers, Tracey Lordes, etc.
