Biggest Overreaction WW transaction in your league this week (1 Viewer)

Ministry of Pain

In one of my leagues, guy cut Joey Galloway this week. I will be sitting at the computer at 11:00 tonight once he clears waivers so I can pick him up and part with either Burleson or Gabriel...haven't figured out which one quite yet...Gabriel may have more upside if he is going to start in NE soon.

So what was the biggest over reaction in your league this week?

it's minor, but i thought someone cutting the giants defense for the rams was a little knee-jerk

I am so bummed out. I always look forward to Week One waivers when people overreact and drop someone they shouldn't. Acouple of years ago after Jurevicius' two TD day, I was able to get Chad Johnson. :D

So, this morning, I optimistically checked all three of my leagues. No one did anything dumb or premature in any of them.

In a league with short benches (4 players), Lee Evans was cut.
Major mistake...Galloway as Imentioned being cut...somewhat short benches, limited WR spots at 6 in a must start 3 league.Lee Evans getting cut is a major mistake...guys has 16 TDs in his 1st 2 seasons in the league...grab him quickly CSTU.

One guys in our league with a Chad-love-fettish picked him up.

P.S. He already has Mark Bulger and Steve McNair

I'd rather have Gabriel than Galloway.

I put in a request to drop Wali Lundy for the Charger's D. If we were allowed more than 5 bench spots I'd have a poorer player to drop. I'll still have 4 RBs (start 2) if the transaction goes through.

Right, so I might have to part with Burleson as things are not looking good for him there. I can't leave Joey on the WW...third time in 2 seasons he has a big zero but when he gets clicking he can score.

One team traded Kevin Jones and McGahee for Julias Jones and Drew Bledsoe....

His other QBs are Losman and Kitna...

Im not really sure he needed Bledsoe that bad. Why would anyone want Bledsoe in a dynasty league at this point is beyond me.

In one of my leagues I was very pleased to see that an inexperienced owner dropped Clinton Portis for J. Brown. The Kicker. I was first in line for waivers because I had the last pick and so I happily put in a request for Portis. I guess this guy heard about Portis being injured and just wanted to get him off of his team. I feel kind of guilty about it all. I have enclosed a copy of the transaction below

In a blind bid system one own with lots of $ bid on 6 players and got five of them. He had two open roster spots and I don't think he thought he'd win on 5 out of 6 bids but he ended up dropping Alex Smith (TE), Ben Troupe, and Amani Toomer and getting JP Losman, Travis Henry, Jerricho Cotchery, Marques Colston, and Desmond Clark. Bottom line is he ended up dropping Toomer for either Colston or Cotchery and Troupe for Clark. Both mistakes IMHO.

I dropped Williamson and T Green for SD D and Robbie Gould.

I need them in week 5 and want to get high upside at those positions teaming with Josh Brown and Seattle.

I am carrying 6 rb's with 2 handcuffs for LT and Dunn

My qb's left with are Favre and Kitna :bag: maybe someone will get hurt

I don't know if I overreacted I just didn't wnat to wait to get good bu's/ plattoon at K and D

and couldn't part with RB's. I have offered a rb for qb however.

I dropped Lundy because someone dropped JLew (Late Saturday before the first game), I believe he overreacted with the news of the hip injury. So i gladly picked him up.

One owner threaten to drop R. Moss if they have another bad game. He has S. Smith and L. Fitz as his other starters. I'm not sure if he's blowing smoke or not.

I couldn't bring myself to play in a league like this. Funny thing is we'll see a collusion thread in a few weeks when the same guy trades LT for Rackers and Pennington.

Does anyone else turn over the bottom of their roster a lot during the first two weeks? If so, do you find it effective?

Guy in my league spent all $100 of his free agent money for the Chargers D. Maybe he doesn't know they don't play the Raiders every week . . .

Personaly I'd rather go 8-6 in a savy league than go 14-0 with a bunch of idiots. Looks like alot of you guys need to find some tougher competion. :football:
