Gotta be Forte @IND as the Bears were looking possibly pitiful heading into the season. Palmer playing at a ball hawking BAL squad with a bad OL was not really a surprise but I admit worse than I suspected.

Chris Johnson, but not so much for the statline.

What was most suprising was seeing him relegate LenDale White to Najeh Davenport duty right out of the gate. As has been discussed elsewhere, Johnson's second-half cramping issues really skew the final statlines. There wasn't anywhere near a 50/50 split up to that point.

Other: Detroit defense giving up 320 yards rushing.

Apparently, they really needed to get rid of Shaun Rodgers. So much for Addition by subtraction.

Wanted to go with Turner, or even FWP, but given the situations I had to go with Forte. I thought the Bears had no oline?

Holmes. Only because the Stiller scored so many points and he had nothing to do with it.
:goodposting: Heck, I sat Cotchery and Chambers over Holmes...and they put up 9-15 points more than he did...still won my game, but not happy where this is going.

I think Edwards, considering his targets, is the biggest surprise. I would also consider adding Rosario as there was some hype on him BEFORE week 1 and he absolutely delivered and looked good doing it. He's a WW pickup in most leagues that could be a difference-maker this year, I think.

ETA--If this is not just in terms of fantasy, Indy losing to Chicago was a HUGE surprise to me. Never did I expect a Chicago team led by Orton, Forte, Hester, and B. Lloyd to beat out Indy in week 1 at home in primetime.

Turner didn't surprise me, as I expected him to be this good.FWP did surprise, I thought Mendy would get a little work. But Forte.. I didn't think he would be nearly as good as he looked. He had vision I never attributed to him.

I voted other. The Bucs offensive ineptness vs. the Saints improved defense was a big surprise to me. The Bucs offensive line looked terrible and Garcia was really struggling to make plays. I don't know how much of that is on the Bucs and how much on the Saints' D but the Bucs offense looked surprisingly worse than I expected.

Maybe Turner and Forte weren't expected to put up numbers quite that good, but they definitely had the potential (Turner more than Forte). Palmer not breaking 100 yards is just crazy to me. Braylon then Santonio would be my next votes.

Forte was the only one that really surprised me... I wasn't expecting much out of him, maybe 50 yards... not in 1 run for a TD... he did great...

Fasono surprised only cause he wasn't even drafted in most, but you can't count that as anything... most of the players listed are players that may have gotten the start...

Palmer was expected to have a bad game... yes it was worse than expected, but still.

Holmes, I was never high on... he's more of a second half of the season guy anyway.

MJD.. again, was down on him to start the season, the minor injury, questions at WR..

Braylon was a surprise... but it wasn't like anyone didn't think it could happen... again, QB issue with injury.

Turner was a pleasant surprise... I drafted him in 3 of my 4 leagues... looking for that big home run capability that he has. Did I expect 200, no, but I did expect some big plays which he delivered...and I expected them to run alot. You look at their run game with Grampa Dunn and Norwood... you knew someone young and with talent would excel.

I don't remember who else was on the list... but my vote was definately Forte
