Bill "Family Values" O'Reilly loses custody of kids (1 Viewer)

“Particularly relevant in this case are the clearly stated preferences of the children, especially considering their age and maturity, and the quality of the home environment provided by the mother.”

Which skeletons are you referring to? The court ruled neither parent could be the sole decision-maker. Seems pretty common.

Oh, now just because a guy dragged his wife down a flight of stairs by her neck and his kids don't want to spend time with him now that they're old enough to make their own decision on that, suddenly he's not a family values guy.

I would never do that...but I understand.

Meh.  I don't see this as an indictment of all.  Those who preach "morals" aren't perfect either and that's what the OP fails to see.

If he was doing it ALL the time then you may have a case.

His behavior during his divorce fits a very clear archetype of an abuser attempting to assert control.  Almost comically, if it wasn't a tragic situation.

So if he is an abuser as you say, why didn't the court terminate his rights completely?  Not only did they NOT do that, they gave him visitation rights every other weekend and still granted him joint authority.  I'm not convinced by your heresay that this judgement isn't any different than any other bitter divorce judgments.

I think just don't like O'Reilly so you're willing to say anything about him.

Because abusing a spouse doesn't disqualify you from visitation with your children.

What's the world coming to when MaxThreshold can't defend spousal abuse without someone invading his safe space?

Ahh, glad to see the "she shouldn't have worn that if she didn't want to get raped" contingent is here.

Are you suggesting matters would have turned out differently if he had a ranch style home with no stairs?

Wait, maybe I'm missing the point.  Me, I'm actually shocked he has kids.  I get a strong gay/facist vibe from him.  I presumed he like Thai shemales in Nazi regalia.  live and learn.

I was quoting a Chris Rock reference. Take it up with him.
Here's the Chris Rock joke:

So you gotta look at OJ's situation. He's paying $25,000 a month in alimony, got another man driving around in his car and ####### his wife in a house he's still paying the mortgage on. Now I'm not saying he should have killed her... but I understand.
Even if we set aside that it's just a stand up comedy bit, it's still quite a bit different than what you're saying, which seems to be "I'm not saying I'd drag my wife by the neck down a flight of stairs ... but I understand."

I don't think his tastes are that mainstream.

Chris rock is saying "I'm not saying he should have killed her...but I understand if he would have".  He was making fun of a situation that actually happened - just like O'Reilly's situation.

HTH.

I liked it when stories of his private life involved nothing more violent than him exfoliating Oompa Loompas with a falafel in his shower.  If it is consensual and nonviolent, it is the man's private business.  When it goes violent, well then we have to get involved and I am willing to do my part by being an ######## on the internet.

Go on...

I mean, he killed a guy, sure.  But he doesn't do it all the time.

There are now two comments about falafel.

Someone wanna clue me in on what I'm missing here?    And, once you're done -- lets meet for some hot exfoliating shower action.

I see it was alleged, but was he ever charged?
