Blind Bidding (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
This is my first year of doing blind bidding for free agents and I don't really know what strategies to use or really what I should expect.

Anyone have advice in budgeting (either per week, by position, whatever)?

What should I expect others to be spending early in the year?

What % of my money should I save for a pickup late in the year?

etc.

I'd like to hear the different moves you guys use to get the guys who will help your team.

Any tips/experience at all in the blind bidding process would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!

well, it depends on how much money you have, how large your rosters are and if you can pick up players for 0$. generally, you should try to use all your money by the end of the year bc its obv useless after the season.

if there is a guy you think will be very helpful to your team you should spend enough to ensure you get him. i have bid a ton on tashard choice, favre, steve smith (nyg), justin fargas, maurice morris, sydney rice, sims walker, derrick ward. some ended up being dumb, some were very helpful.

ok heres 3 tips

1. make small bids on speculative players

2. make huge bids on guys that appear studs or very helpful to your team

3. make sure you have enough minimum money at the end of the year to find replacement players in case of injury.

Been sneaking around here for a while with no posts, but I guess it's time...

Our keeper league going on 5 years is in the process of voting in blind bidding with a waiver cap. As commish, and with everyone loving this idea when they hear it for the first time, I have no idea what this cap should be. I guess in the end it doesn't matter since people will adjust to whatever amount they have, but is there a common number? Have searched around and can't find anything.

Also, wanted this thread to come back to see if there is any more advice on this.

Thanks!
