mods: sorry don't want to make this an AC forum question, but:

what are your thoughts on Boldin when he comes back?

all reports are saying he will not be back until after his by week (7) so his absence is hurting the current owner.

I'm considering a run at him, but do you think he'll jump right back in and put up numbers? will he be gun shy? how does Breaston play into the equation?

He is a FA next year and will be playing to showcase his talent for potential suitors.

BAD POST IGNORE - He is under contract until 2010.

Can you link to reports saying he will not play this week? I happen to think that is the most likely scenario, but i have not seen this confirmed in any way, and I just imagine him (or anyone really is my point) to be anxious to play the Cowboys.

I am not sure that is true. I think Bolding has a couple of years left on his contract, he just wanted the deal redone after Fitz got his big deal.

well my only source was the great and powerful CBS sportsline updates. They said it was likely they held him out. Otherwise I have not researched it too far, but this owner is a pretty absentee owner who would prob live and die by what the fisrt link told him

Nope, he's under contract for quite a few more years, 2010 i believe.I would expect Boldin to perform more like his hostorical averages, rather than the pace he set early on this yer\ar. He's never been one to shy away from contact even after being injured I'd see no reason to think that will change, and Breaston's play wont take more than a target or two from him when he returns.

This is all I see from Roto.. but as with anything we will learn more later in the week..Oct. 3, 2008 - 3:41 p.m. ET

Anquan Boldin underwent surgery to repair his sinus fracture and will miss this week's game. The Cardinals are hopeful he can play next Sunday.

A hockey player reportedly returned from the same surgery in 10 days, so it sounds like Boldin has a good chance to play against Dallas in Week 6. Boldin's history of bad breaks on injuries continue, but he's still slated for a huge season. Steve Breaston will start against Buffalo and makes for a fine WR3 play.

so is his historical average lower then where he's been playing up to the injury? Right now, per my league, he and Fitz are ranked #3 and 2 WRs overall respectively. In all honestly I didn't follow him much until now. So I saw the opportunity and figured I'd pounce

I'm not saying they're the same, but didn't Driver come back okay after a devastating hit?

If I recall he was out for a long time and was able to come back, albeit the following season, and put up pretty nice numbers.

I see no reason why Boldin would not be able to come back.

It might be 4-6 weeks before he's even close to performing as a WR1.

Not really an answer to the OP, but here's a week 6 update from a writer..

Oct. 6, 2008 - 3:10 p.m. ET The Arizona Republic does not believe that Anquan Boldin (sinus fracture) will play in Week 6 against the Cowboys. Coach Ken Whisenhunt said Monday that Boldin will be "evaluated" this week, but beat writer Kent Somers doesn't believe Q will be rushed back with Steve Breaston playing well. Week 7 is Arizona's bye, which could help the Cards play it safe. Breaston caught seven of his eight targets in Week 5 and appears setup for another start. Early Doucet would be the third receiver.
