Boldin (1 Viewer)

After he was going at it with his OC I didn't see him again. Any insight or post game comments?

Kind of shocking to me regarding Boldin's rep as a team first player. The team was winning albeit the lead slipping away and he's arguing on the sideline. Whisenhunt was about to step in but held off.

Never saw that side of Boldin before. It's a shame. I was putting him right up there with Fitz at mid-season. I think his jealousy of Fitzgerald's huge game broke him down. I'm sure other OCs, GMs, and coaches took note.

What a dimwit.

i thought it looked like the OC said "Get open then!"

people do weird stuff in the heat of battle. Boldin was likely frustrated with himself and instead tried to blame the OC for not getting him the ball.

Just like you never saw that side of Donovan when he picked up a phone on the NYG sidelines? I'm sure other OC's, GMs, and coaches took note.So as a reality check, you think OCs, GMs, and coaches that have an opportunity to have Boldin after his body of work in his first few years are gonna say "yeah, but WHOA, did you see what he did in that one game vs Philly? We better look elsewhere for a less talented but agreeable WR". O..........k.

Yeah, a guy getting a little over-excited and doing something harmless and goofy while his team has just clinched a playoff win is the exact same thing as a player selfishly publicly ripping into his his coach while his team his winning the NFC championship game.Get a clue.

I felt there was some serious jealousy by Boldin of Fitz as well.

apparently Boldin had some pretty bad post game comments as well. I heard them on Fox sports radion this morning from Sabin. I am looking for the link now.

The 1st line was sarcasm. The 2nd line was the "reality check". Read that, process it, and then try and respond. The "get a clue" applies much more to you than to me.

Yeah, this was my first thought.

Boldin bolts while Cardinals celebrate

Nancy Gay, Chronicle Staff Writer

Monday, January 19, 2009

04:00 PST Glendale, Ariz. -- Anquan Boldin and his much-discussed strained left hamstring appeared on the Cardinals' active roster for Sunday's NFC Championship Game. Then Arizona's Pro Bowl receiver disappeared as fast as he could after his team's 32-25 victory over the Eagles.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Boldin, who had four catches for 34 yards while All-Pro teammate Larry Fitzgerald caught nine balls for 152 yards and three touchdowns, sprinted out the back door of Arizona's locker room before some of his elated teammates had made it off the confetti-strewn field from the Halas Trophy presentation.

Before the season began, Boldin - unhappy that the Cardinals had not renegotiated his contract - asked for a trade and said publicly he no longer was on speaking terms with head coach Ken Whisenhunt. On Sunday, he was seen arguing on the sideline with Cardinals offensive coordinator Todd Haley seven plays into Arizona's game-winning, 14-play drive in the game's final 10 minutes.

Wearing a lime-green shirt, Boldin tried to bolt for the stadium exit before a small group of media caught him. Someone asked if reaching the Super Bowl eases what has happened between him and the franchise.

"That's not an issue," Boldin said. "Like I told you guys at the beginning of the season, my main goal was to do this. I've come through with all of my promises. I fought. I gave my heart to this organization. It's paying off."

Does he want to stay in Arizona?

"Next question."

I dont think this hurts his status in the market but as a fan it really diminishes my view of him. I cant think of a rational scenario that would warrant a player to act this way. The only thing I can think of is that Boldin was wide open for a couple of plays but Haley was screaming from the sidelines to not throw it to Boldin.

These guys amaze me.For all the good they do on and off the field, you can throw away all the good will you've generated with one act of toolishness.

How selfish can you be to be thinking of your self when your team just won.

Get bent.

I'd love to see the Cards sack-up and suspend him for the Super Bowl. Don't even let him make the trip. Take the joy of this experience away from him if he wants to be a 'me-guy' during teh team's ultimate moment.

here's a little more info

Heated moments

Not everyone was congratulating offensive coordinator Todd Haley on his play calling Sunday.

On the team's game-winning drive, the television broadcast showed receiver Anquan Boldin in a heated exchange with Haley.

Boldin declined comment about it after the game, and Haley called it "a heat of the moment" situation.

"We changed personnel groups out there and I put Steve Breaston in for (Boldin)," Haley said, "and he was upset about it."

I thought I heard on the radio this morning that he was "kicked out of the locker room" after the game - anyone else hear that?

If he's this much of a cancer at this point, they have no choice but to trade him this offseason. Breaston filled-in nicely for him during the year and the Cards are going to have too many holes to fill for next year that are more important than making sure Q keeps pace with Fitz' contract. He's went from being my favorite Cardinal to my most loathed. That said, I hope he has a huge Super Bowl.

Anquan Boldin is a Jackass

by Mike Freeman

CBS Sports

He tried to ruin the Super Bowl celebration with his childishness.

In the game, Boldin got into a heated argument with offensive coordinator Todd Haley. After the game, instead of celebrating with his team, Boldin abruptly left the field, then abruptly left the locker room.

It was awful behavior.

Quarterback Kurt Warner also got into an argument with Haley during the game but you didn't see Warner acting like a petulant child afterwards. He celebrated with his teammates and enjoyed the moment.

I have to say in nearly 20 years of doing this, I've never seen a player more concerned about his arguing with a coach over making a Super Bowl.

What Boldin did almost never happens.

Congratulations on making history, Anquan.

Perhaps it was combination of the jealousy that has always been there(imo) with Fitz and the fact that Boldin was probably not 100% yesterday.

Damn i wanted Boldin to replace Plax on the Giants, now i rather have a veteran hard worker like TJ Housh instead

I hope most of these comments are sarcasm because I'm not seeing anything that should cause people to switch from liking the guy to hating him that fast.

You have not been around here long enough.

It looked to me like Haley keep saying,"Go ahead,"as if challenging Boldin to make good on some threat he made during his outburst. Boldin's motivation could have been jealousy, but he never had a history of this kind of behavior in the past when Fitz out produced him.

More likely it was the heat of the moment. The common denominator of all great athletes is their competitive drive. It is what separates them from us. With it sometimes comes incidents like Boldin's outburst yesterday.

I believe most front office people understand this. I doubt it hurts Boldin's value at all.

Boldin has the "Rod Tidwell" complex.

That was a very stupid thing to do in a Championship game. Haley is concentrating on the game and Bolding is chirping in his ear about personal issues. :towelwave:

The sideline thing I'll give him the benefit of the doubt but to hold the grudge after the game :towelwave:

:lmao: Your team is going to the SB for the first time EVER. And you leave the locker room before some of the team is even off the field?Weak.

Maybe he and Nab can get on the same team next year and share their benching stories and hatered for their respective ( soon to be former ) teams.

Very weak, and very selfish. Too bad Boldin could not take in and enjoy the moment. It may be the only time in his playing career to get a chance to celebrate with team mates after a championship game.Freeman is right, Boldin is a jackass.

I've always loved Boldin as a player. He always seemed tough, focused & hard nosed at a position usually filled by prima donnas. I thought even more highly of him when he bounced back so quickly after the blow he took during the Jets/Cards game.

Losing it in the heat of battle is one thing, BUT it's his behavior after the game that has left me shocked and disappointed.

 homer

i'll have to say this you guys are getting down on one of the hardest working players out there, and the thing is you don't KNOW what happened to start this so why not keep it to a low roar in here......

He was probably embarassed with what took place during the game. I am sure he felt bad and a bit shameful for his actions. I am sure all things will be fine, he just needed some time to himself after having an out of character moment. Maybe he thought it was out of line to celebrate and be joyful after he had just been in a fight with his OC. Boldin has been one of the best WR's in the game and has remained very loyal to Arizona and his teammates and until we know more or perhaps he continues to undermine a OC I don't think there is any reason to worry.

Haley called a HORRIBLE game in the second half and almost cost us the game...Warner yelled at him, Boldin yelled at him, Fitz was yelling at him while on the field.

The local media has been getting on Boldin, but any true Cards fan knows Boldin was the heart and soul of this team for several years and deserved to be on the field.

I've bumped down Haley quite a bit after yesterday despite his impressive playcalling in the first half.

Early rumor is Boldin for T. Suggs. Boldin will restructure and go to the Ravens where he will be the star...Suggs comes back home where he has been very vocal about wanting to play for the Cards...Ravens will have to franchise him this year...makes sense to me.

GO CARDS!!
