Bored Upgrade - discussion (3 Viewers)

Aaron, I am pretty sure you have liked well over 10 posts in this thread since it reopened. If the system is capable of allowing unlimited likes can you check that box that says "all users".

so, how the heck do I see the threads I replied to?

 
Used to like that each page of a thread was its own discrete thing...now when you go to the next page it flies you to the top of the page, the whole thing fades or whatever for a few seconds, and then the new page appears into existence without anything else on the page changing. Its weird, its slow, and it feels clunky. And dumb. Super dumb, like everything between the page numbers at the top and bottom are part of an internet flip book.

It's 1230 here now. I am sitting in my room and this blinding background is giving off more than enough light where I do not need to have any lights on. +1 to this new update for savings on the electric bill.

For me, the flying to the top of the next page happens at super speed.  Gak.

Thanks. That is absolutely terrible. 

My unsolicited 2 cents: before making big changes to the board you may want to float the ideas out to the users. You can never get consensus but sometimes things you never considered can become evident. I believe the "I replied" feature is bigger than may have been realized.

Doesn't this all come from one company that provides the chatboard platform for all these sites?  I mean how much pick-and-choose does a client have with this stuff?  

And how much trouble do you sign up for if you try and get too customized/fancy?

 
I could live with a less gmailey look and feel. 

But again, :stonedbanana: and :wastedbanana: would go a long ways to make amends.  If Baseball Tangent can do you, so can you, FBG!

 
The Footballguys skin was meant to be the default, Memphis is working on getting it fixed.

As Aaron mentioned, there's a bunch of index rebuilds going on that have to complete for various things to work right. PMs should be back soon.  Search and older post formatting are going to take longer for all of the post stuff to get rebuilt.

 
This happens with every single upgrade. By next week, things will be back to normal. Everyone flips out on Day 1 usually and thinks the boards are ruined until the upgrade is completed days later. 

This was a major upgrade. There will be changes but hopefully nothing too drastic.

I also don't like the shorter pages, and not being able to see who is reading a thread. I can't really find any positives out of this upgrade so far. Just one opinion.

I don't know why anybody is up in arms over search features. There isn't a forum on the internet with a better search feature than Google.

1. Go to Google.com

2. Type in footballguys and whatever terms you want to search

3. Profit.

 
Hoping someone can help me with this

On my chrome book the page auto loads to the next page Howevwer, with the new forum, it brings you to the next unread thread. Even as I type this, 8 million posts are opening and the only way IO can get back here is to start typing

 
I can't see the list of topics on my android device. Sorry if this has been covered already, but is there a mobile setting or something?
