Brady or Manning? (1 Viewer)

Brady's had an unbelievable start, and his owners have to be ecstatic. However, I think that the cold weather in New England will diminish that passing attack somewhat in November and December, and they will run the ball more.

Last year, first McNabb and then Brees put up phenomenal numbers over a period of weeks; in the end, however, it was Manning who was the most steady and consistent QB throughout the season. I think it will be the same this year.

I don't own either of these guys, just intensly curious as to how it shakes down in the end....

(I guess Palmer and Romo could also be considered, though maybe not Romo after Monday night...)

I'd go with Brady. They are no doubt running up the score this year. I guess Brady wants to break the TD record or something.

I give the edge to Manning simply because he has been a consistant fantasy producer for YEARS. Brady has been top FF QB for 5 weeks. There very well could be a regression as the season moves on. Lots of things could happen to upset the NE passing game, whereas Manning seems immune to those things.

:goodposting:How are people putting Romo ahead of Manning, especially after last night's game. One thing you know you get with Manning/Brady is consistency. You always start them and can expect to just about never get a dud performance.

Brady. Opponents have decided to play the Colts with 2 deep safeties nearly all the time - so that means fewer explosive plays. The defenses the Pats face have not employed the same strategy yet, so they'll have more explosive plays.

I think Manning is more valuable to his team, but Brady is more clutch.

Tough, tough call here. You can't go wrong with either. This is a great era of QB's, IMO.

End of Favre, prime of Manning & Brady, Carson, Romo & Roethlisberger hitting stride and the very beginning of Cutler, Vince & Leinert (I think they could all three be great QB's in a couple of years).

Good times for QB's & WR's.....RB's, not so much right now.

And oddly enough Manning has produced 6 TD's in the last 2 games. Doesn't seem to be working.

It is the "quick death" vs. "slow death" dilemma - most teams pick "slow death", meaning dropping the 2 safeties way back. The Jaguars play this style of defense the best against the Colts, and that is the next team Manning faces.

It really depends on the games each week, both have the ability to put up huge numbers. The concern I would have with Peyton is if your league subtracts for INTs - every once in a while he has a doozy. My concern with Brady is that there seem to be games where Belichek wants to run the ball 700 times and have Brady pass only 10 times. Maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but you know what I mean.I guess a very slight edge to Manning, but I'd be thrilled with either, and I own Palmer.

Wait, sometimes PEYTON has a doozy? Manning hasn't had a 3-INT game since 2002. Brady, on the other hand, has had a 4-INT game every single season for four straight years. Over the last 4 years, Peyton has 8 multi-int games compared to 12 for Brady. Over the last 4 years, Manning has 39 INTs compared to 52 for Brady.Anyway, given the choice, I'd *MUCH* rather have Manning. I expect their production to be comparable from here on out, but Manning's a much more proven commodity. There's always the risk of defenses figuring out how to stop the Patriots and Brady's numbers falling way back to earth. At this point, though, teams have had 4 years and they haven't figured out how to stop Manning, so I'm confident enough to say that they aren't going to start now.

Not a fair comparison since Brady FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER has WR'S to throw to while Peyton always had Harrison and Wayne along with Edge. I have Brady and am enjoying sitting at the top of the FFL QB ladder. Id say 2nd would be Peyton, then Palmer, then Romo(INT'S are keeping him here). Brady has been in the 3300-3500 yds range and 28-30 TD's which is only 5-6 less than Peyton. All that with WR's like Caldwell, Branch, Stallworth, Graham, and recently TE Watson. I'll go out on a limb and say Manning wouldnt of been able to improve on those #'s given those "weapons".
