Brady vs Lt. Point Totals from last year. (1 Viewer)

I am wondering what everyone's points difference are between Qb's and Rb's. The league I am in is heavy to Qb's. It seems to heavy. Please tell me if I am wrong. The break down from last year are as follows.

Brady 532

Romo 410

Peyton 377

Brees 361

Farve 348

LT 243

Westbrook 213

Peterson 186

Adai 182

Portis 171

Moss 249

Owens 185

B Edwards 180

I am wondering what the difference is from so your leagues. Is there this big of a difference?

If it is how does it affect the rankings for a draft?

We had similar results in one of my leagues. 8 of the top 10 scorers were QBs. I know last season was a little down for RBs in general but I suggested to our commissioner that we lower passing TDs from 5 to 4 pts.If the scoring doesn't change I will be taking a QB in the 1st or 2nd round (3 player keeper and I am keeping 3 RBs).

So, there was a 190 point difference between QB1 and QB 5 and only a 70 point difference between RB1 and RB5...I would definintely go early on QB if the scoring stays the same.

You have points per completion/bonus points for 250 Yrd games?

Hate to knock someone else's league, but man that is waaaay too heavy in favor of QBs. If you don't have a top QB, you're going to be left behind it seems.

2 things of note

Brady was clearly the no. 1 player in the league last year by points of separation from his closest and baseline competition

He is more unlikely to repeat last season than LT

Maybe you can include your scoring system details so we understand WHY the QB scoring is so high. In my leagues all TD's are 6pts yet our scoring was higher for RB's and lower for QB's than what you posted. Something like Brady=490 and LT2=300 IIRC.

Yes, because someone is likely to throw about 50 TDs again. ;) ours was similar but closer gap due to PPR and we give 6 pts all TDs. I'm big on the VBD thing, but it's basic premise of focusing on the gaps between players within a position vs comparing across positions makes sense and is being ignored here. I thought this was VBD Groupie Land......?Anyway I suggest adding PPR.

Last year's results were unusual. Make sure you look back at a few years worth of stats/scoring history before you're convinced that this trend will continue.

Sorry I should have added the Scoring system.

6pts all Td's

1pt 25yd passing

2pt at 200yds

2pts at 300yds

-1 int

1pt for 15yd rushing and receiving

2pt for 100yd rushing and receiving

I have voiced my opinion that the Qb shouldnt get 2pt's for 200yds but the guys want to leave it so I just need to adjust my player list.

Why don't you propose 1 pt 10 yards rushing/receiving and 1 ppr or at least .5 ppr? Those 2 tweaks might even things out a bitWhat I don't understand is the 2 points for 200 yards and then a another 2 point bonus for 300 yards...seems strange to bonus at 200 and 300 yards

When your top QB (Brady) scores about 10% more than your top RB (LT) and top WR (Moss) COMBINED, I think it is safe to say the system favors QBs and the top QBs should go first. That being said, I don't like your system. Sounds like you league is adverse to the smallest change, but I would go with 1 pt per 10 yards rushing/receiving; add a 2 pt tier for 150 yards rush/receive and maybe introduce 1 PPR to balance things out somewhat.

If nothing's changing anyway, just go with whatever it is and adjust your draft list accordingly. In that league, obviously Brady and Manning should be the first two picks. Just be flexible with whatever the scoring system is.

My top 25 here, points are at the very end.

What stands out as off base with your scoring is that if a QB has a typical "good" game by a QB of 300 yards passing, that would score 16 pts. Yet a good game of 100 yards rushing or receiving only scores 8 or 9 points. That's a huge discrepancy. A 300 yard passing game, and 100 yards rushing or receiving games should all score approximately the same amount. I would suggest you make it 1 pt. for 50 yards passing and eliminate the bonus at 200 yards. That makes a 300 yard game equal to a 105 yard game by your scoring.
