Bragging, venting, crowing, grieving... (1 Viewer)

The good - won league 1 despite losing several draft picks to injuries by working the waiver wire like never before.  Over the past 6 weeks I would guess easily more than half my starters were waiver adds.  Been in this league for 20 years making the playoffs 70% of the time but could never win the championship.  This includes last year where I was 14-1 and top overall seed but lost in semi final.  This year I snuck in as a 5 seed and won three games in a row to win it all.  If I didn't go with my gut and start Chicago D over Dallas D I would have lost.

The bad - lost semi final and 3rd place game by benching Burrow for Herbert last two weeks.  Lamb also killed me as I could have started Renfrow or Singletary.  Oh well.  I had already won 3 championships in that league.

2 week championship.

Down 38 after the 1st weekend.  This week, we sat Gronk for Kittle, and Brady for Dak.

Needless to say his team couldn't find the map to the stadium I guess and we are up by 25.02 going into tonight, and he's got Chubb.

St. Brown was a great late season pick up.

In 5 championships. Lost one as expected but lost in another where I refused to follow the FBG recommendation of starting Singletary over Ronald Jones. Turned out to be the difference. :bag:

Need Diontae Johnson to stay under 20 points tonight and I go 3/5.

I lost in the semifinals of a dynasty league last week. Had I won, here's what I would have been up against:

  • QB: Wilson (31.20)
  • RB: Jacobs (18.00)
  • WR: Chase (59.60)
  • WR: Kupp (21.50)
  • WR: Mooney (19.90)
  • TE: Andrews (17.90)
  • Flex: Ogunowale (14.80)
  • Flex: Penny (32.50)
Total: 215.40 - the guy that beat me last week needs 115 points from Diontae Johnson tonight.

Last night was one of my greatest fantasy nights ever. In 2 championship games:

In one full PPR, I had a 7 point lead going against Chubb. Pulled off a miracle fade.

In another league half PPR, I was down 26 with Najee. His end of game TD run secured me win.

Wow. Not one but two long shots.

Congrats man!

That last was the chef’s kiss to my season. I lost to a weaker team who started Berrios & Scott, both off this week’s WW. Five (5!) different lineup decisions would have given me my first title since 2015 l: WR3-RB2-Flex-K-DST. That’s not counting my brilliant decision to drop ARSB for Josh Reynolds after Week 12.

Sorry, but I have a lot of venting to do.

Regular season average score (weeks 1-14)
League: 101.34
Me: 116.30 (second was 109.88)
Champ: 102.25

Post season average score (weeks 15-17)
League: 96..63
Me: 131.00 (second was 119.10)
Champ: 114.07

Last seven weeks average score (week 11-17)
League: 99.24
Me: 135.56 (my best stretch ever in 25 years of FF, the second highest average was 103.57)
Champ: 101.20

I averaged almost 17 more points per week in the post season than the league champ but have nothing to show for it.  We tied for our division at 8-6 but he got the #3 seed due to head to head record and I had to settle for #5 seed.
Week 14: He beat me with his season high of 145.0 to 137.0 (he had averaged 77.56 the previous 5 weeks).
Week 15: He beat the #6 seed 91.6 to 89.5 while I lost to the #4 seed 111.0 to 108.2. (thanks Amari Cooper, 1 catch 8 yards). In weeks 12-15 I averaged 126.98 (19.6 more than anybody else) and went 1-3.
Week 16: I would have had 152.1 points (36.3 more than he did and 37.9 more than the 4 seed).

Had I won one more game during the season (#2 seed) or lost one more game (#6 seed) I would have won the Championship.  😭

I went to bed last night down by 2.7 points and cussing Antonio Brown for quitting and costing me the game.  I guess there were stat corrections overnight though because I woke up the champion today by .2 points.

Lost my work league (weeks 17 & 18 combined) by 2.8 yards. Yards.

Just got to laugh and tip your cap. Sad part is he has Jamar Chase so that 50 point explosion last week really mattered to the yard.

Guy had the ridiculous draft and deserved to win (J Taylor, Najee, Deebo, J. Chase, Mark Andrews, etc.) but proud my team ended up keeping it that close this week after being way behind after last week.

Would just like to say thanks to the mods for reinstating my access to this website and apologies that my poor attempt at sarcastically liking an unpleasant post was easily misinterpreted.

This was my lineup today (no kicker league). Needless to say this is the lowest scoring week I’ve ever had in my fantasy football life. I’m actually not even upset. It almost feels like a miracle to put together a roster that underperformed this badly.

QB - Lance
RB - Ekeler
RB - Etienne
WR - Higgins
WR - Deebo
Flex 1 - Devonta Smith
Flex 2 - Renfrow
TE - Schultz
D - Denver (maybe they’ll get me 70 pts tomorrow to get me where I was projected lol)

WR - Sutton

It's going to be long year in this league.

It’s all luck man!

Jefferson, Barkley as 1-2 picks from the 5 spot feels pretty pretty good.

Making Myles Garrett my DL1 (after 5 other DL were taken) also feels pretty good.

Its nice when you feel you drafted well...decent ratings from multiple sites/sources. Only to put up the worse score in the league week 1 and lose your QB game one.

Man, my depth looks good though...everywhere but QB.

Lost by 1.04 in my main redraft league. If Javonte doesn’t fumble (-2 in our league), I win. He doesn’t even have to score.

I also would have won if I’d played any of four guys over Toney in my second flex spot.

I started that way from the 3 spot (in a 12 team league). A little bit of a reach for JJ but with 18 picks until I'm up in the 2nd I felt justified in "going for my guy". I know it's only week 1, but feel awfully good how that started. If I went Ekeler in the 1st or Jav Williams in the 2nd like I was tempted I would've lost week 1. As it was, I was high scorer in the league beating the #2 high score. Despite having Pitts and Mike Williams in my lineup. But I feel confident that they just had an off-game, instead of just turning into awful fantasy players for 2022.

Same - my draft inexplicably went 4-straight RB, and I grabbed JJ over Kupp to get "my guy".

After 1 week at least, it feels like the right call.

It's a long season though.

Lost the cover on the last garbage time TD. So it setting up that way as soon as KC kicked the FG. Then to top it off, the guy in going against has Palmer who did barely anything tonight until he caught the same TD. Double kick to the nuts.

Last year in my rookie draft I picked Kyle Pitts over Ja’Marr Chase and Trey Lance over Justin Fields. This year I picked Kenneth Walker over Drake London and Jameson Williams over Garrett Wilson. Starting to feel like I’m not cut out for this dynasty league stuff.

Edit - I know Fields isn’t looking so hot either but he’s at least playing.

Came roaring back from 50 down tonight thanks to Jalen & Slim Reaper (+ Hunter on Minny) to avoid starting 0-2.

Feeling like Jalen is gonna save a lot of games for me this year.

Lost my redraft (now 0-2) to the worst team in the league. He got the last second garbage time palmer-herbert td on Thursday to close the gap on Mike Williams. He played Kenny Golladay and beat me because Tyreek dropped 42 on me. Against a guy that actually put Golladay in his lineup. Can't tell me luck > skill. Lost by 2 points. Spent all night watching Sanders and Smith close the 25 point gap. Week 1 was my Aaron Rodgers+Pierce+Lamb+Williams total of 16.5 point collective turd week

Lost my "productive struggle" dynasty (0-2), again against the worst team in the league. I worked the **** out of the waiver wire after losing Eli Mitchell and throwing in the towel, trading Patterson for a 2nd. Noah Brown, Aston Dulin waiver studs for me but between starting Trey Lance instead of Fields and his playing Nick freaking Chubb who should have sat on the 1 yard line and Kyler Murray who was a corpse for 3 quarters. The turd topping on the **** sundae was that I had a 5.1 point gap with Knox rolling, 8.1 points on 4 catches early in the 3rd quarter, just needed 2-3 more catches or a TD but alas all the points went to Diggs then they benched the entire starting offense because of the blowout. He started Marquez freaking Callaway.

For the 3rd week in a row, my team has WOEFULLY underperformed. Like 30 pts below projections.

This is getting comical.

Both teams I own this season are performing far below weekly expectations.

So far one team underperformed by 30 and 40 points below expectations in 2 of 3 weeks, other week was only 10 points below Am 0-3
Team 2 has performed similarly below expectations, not quite as bad, All 3 weeks have been 20-30 points below expectations

Comical and have never seen this in all the years I have played FF. Will be pretty much out of contention in a couple of weeks
unless things somehow turn around. Can't trade, can't get anything of value back for my top players.
Have to hope their teams and coaches get better

In one league, I play two opponents, superflex league

Opponent 1 - he is done and I have Daniel Jones, down 13
Opponent 2 - I am up 9 with Daniel Jones, going against Barkley.

I hit the middle and won both by less than 2 points. I was actually cheering when Jones threw the late pick, since I only get -1 for a pick. Sealed the win.

I lost this week by 1.2 points.

If ANY ONE of these things had happened, I would have won the game
Cooper Kupp doesn't drop a TD
Allen Robinson doesn't drop a TD
CeeDee Lamb doesn't drop a TD
Tua scores on his QB sneak
Matt Ammendola makes his XP (get one more for the point and don't lose 1 for the miss)
Matt Ammedola makes his easy FG that he missed (another minus 1 for the miss)
The Chiefs let Matt Ammendola kick an easy FG (assuming he actually makes it) instead of a terrible fake FG
The Eagles DST doesn't give up the garbage time TD - cost me 2 points
Picked up and started ANY of these Kickers off the WW instead of Ammendola: Greg Zuerlein, Matt Prater, Cairo Santos, Riley Patterson, Graham Gano, Brett Maher, Jason Myers, Younghoe Koo, Eddy Pineiro, Chase McLaughlin, Ka'imi Fairbairn, Ryan Succop, Randy Bullock, Robbie Gould, Austin Seibert, Cade York, or Jason Sanders. There are only 3 kickers who would not have got me over the hump.
Started Derek Carr instead of Tua
Started Chris Olave instead of Allen Robinson
Started Chase Edmonds OR Rhamondre Stevenson OR Tony Pollard over AJ Dillon

In my main money league I'm 1-2. Both of my losses have been by exactly 1.07 pts. Week 1 I needed an 11-yard catch from Sutton, instead we got a 64-yard FGA from Genius Hackett.

Last night I needed Saquon and Dallas D to score less than 28 points. Barkley's TD put my opponent ahead, but the points-allowed by Dallas put me back on top. Heading into the final Giants drive I was up by 0.97, then Sills falls down and Diggs scoops an INT off the turf to end the game.

Thing is, my team is pretty good, with two obvious holes. My RBs have been fine (Chubb/JRob) and, while my WRs were a little down this week (Diggs/Sutton/MThomas) they've been fine, plus I have GWilson potentially overtaking Thomas as my third WR.

Issue is my QB (Brady) and the utter dumpster fire that is my TE slot, which has produced ZERO points in three weeks. I had Kmet the first two, then finally bailed on him before his 2/41/0 explosion in order to sub in Juwan Johnson

Andrew's Destroyers defy projections, knock off Brian and Will's Team in 195.50-116.75 landslide
Andrew's Destroyers showed up, rolling to a 195.50-116.75 win over Brian and Will's Team, who fell short of projections. Andrew's Destroyers took a 13.90-point lead on Thursday behind Austin Ekeler and never looked back. Nick Chubb (87 Rush Yds, 3 Rush TDs, 26 Rec Yds) and Joe Burrow (199 Pass Yds, 1 Pass TD, 26 Rush Yds) did everything they could for Brian and Will's Team in defeat. Andrew's Destroyers (2-0) will look to get another W against Louis’ Experts, while Brian and Will's Team (1-1) try to right the ship against Garrett's GriddyIron.

My team is stacked, except QB. This season started with Dak week 1, moved to Trey week 2, and then Tua this week. Pretty tough getting wins when I’m getting 2.4 points from my QBs.

I haven't started Amari Cooper or Devanta Smith all year until today....

Oh, and of course my opponent has Hockenson.

Matt Ryan throws for 356. Michael Pittman their WR1 is 3/31. Will be looking for his picture on milk cartons at the grocery store. :cautious:
