Dang... sounds like the WR was wide open, just over thrown - so good play call by the coach on that final play.

I don't blame them at all for going for it there... you can only hold a team like Blessed Trinity in check for so long.

Seriously, you guys did a great job calling the game - great excitement, lots of interesting info and a fine job of providing clear descriptions of what was going on on the field.  :thumbup:

Thanks, man, glad you enjoyed it. Next week we play the team that Blessed Trinity beat in the state championship last year, so it doesn't get any easier.

 
Getting geeked up to be at the game tomorrow.  Going early to watch the team walk from St Johns to the stadium.

To each his own, but I don't get the excitement of that.  Tradition, I guess, but I'd rather be at a tailgate or in a local watering hole.  Have fun.

 
I had someone offer me a ticket for today’s game but we had some other plans with friends. Now if it were a more exciting game, I probably would have found a way to be there. Don’t make me look foolish Buckeyes! 

 
3 of 4 on the road now before Michigan, we'll see if it all comes together.  Really not looking forward to this game in West Lafayette.  I don't see it being easy one bit.

 
In all seriousness, how over-ranked is this team? We'd get crushed by any of the other top five teams right now. No run game, horrible CB play. O-line can't block. Ugh.

IMO, more issues with the front 7, and the trenches in general, versus the secondary.

 
Man that was a rough game.  Look around the country though and I'm ok with getting out with the win.   Most teams have a couple of rough games.  You just have to hope you can get the win those weeks.

Our talent at LB right now is honestly really good.  They look like they aren't getting coached well.   Cade Stover is a 2019 commit that is really highly rated.   Still looking at another,  and Chambers is projected at possibly LB as well.

I might agree with the coaching but the talent level does not look “really good”.

Baron Browning is an athletic freak but looks lost out there.  No excuse for that.   We still have a few weeks to get on track and prep for MSU and UM.

Plenty of guys are athletic freaks but are never able to develop the instincts or understand how to read plays.

Borland isn’t a 3 downer but would be fine if the others around him flew to the ball and could cover. Werner doesn’t impress me at all. 

 
Teradja Mitchell is s 5 star freshman that will have a shot at MLB.  Browning seems more of an olb.

 
Sucks to lose Bosa like that for the ROS.  Was really hoping he'd return in time for TTUN, B1G Championship, and CFP.  

Part of me can't believe he's just dropping out of school completely - whereas the other side of me understands it.  Just not sure how he'll stay projected as the #1 draft pick if he's not on the field, or in people's mentions.  Everything's driven through visibility and he just removed himself from the playing field completely.

 
Yeah, too bad Bosa is gone, but it is hard to blame him.  I have to think this can only be a positive in recruiting as the staff is supportive of this, it can encourage players to come as well.  If you look at all the tweets from current players, they are 100% behind Bosa.  Gotta see the big picture in every way, I guess.

I'd say his label was more top 3 or top 5 than #1, but maybe I'm wrong.  I'd imagine a good marketing plan and agent can take care of it.  His brother has extra time on his hands too.  Coming back for those games and re-injuring himself, or suffering a completely different injury, would be way worse IMO.

 
However ####ty we looked on D this past week, we somehow only gave up 14 (I dont know how that happened).

I think Schiano sucks (for the past couple of years) and would like him not to be here next year.

No points given in the 2nd half.  That is something.  It seems like they could be coached up on a lot of what they missed, such as the slants that Minnesota hit all day long.  At least knowing that he is out, the current D Line can come to grips with that and know it is their time to step it up.  They certainly have the talent.

 
All this talent...all these great recruiting classes...and these guys don't play with any heart.  It seems like they play as if they are just supposed to be given the win.  Purdue out played them and out coached them.  It makes zero sense that we can't run the football on offense.  It makes no sense that we are such poor tacklers on defense.   Did we even have linebackers playing in yesterday's game?

I think Urban is done.  I heard rumors during all the Zach Smith nonsense that we was walking away after this season...that he felt the suspension was unjustified and that tOSU did not support him in this situation.  Maybe these are the lingering effects.  This team doesn't play with heart.  Perhaps that is a reflection of the coach who is not playing with heart.

When I turned the game on in the 4th quarter I thought the score was wrong.  Why is OSU throwing it 70 times with their running game??

 
Yesterday pointed out that this team is VERY poorly coached, especially on defense. How many assignment breakdowns were there were WR/TEs were running totally uncovered? Unforgivable at this point in the season.

Over half of the preseason named starters on defense are injured, some of them from the PSU game... so yeah. 

Arnette, Munford, Landers, Cooper, Harrision, Jones, and Bosa... taking too long to recover. Bosa won't be coming back at all. :kicksrock:

Might still win the B1G, but the defense has had just too many casualties this year to compete in the CFP. Sucks, but it happens. :shrug:

I agree.  He looks done at his press conferences.  Something is very wrong behind closed doors.  I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes an NFL job.

In doing some research for a project though I found this:  9/29/18 Ohio State @ Penn State 27-26   I mean....waht!  ? What in the world.  I was as surprised as you.  Crazy.

 
Ugly game, but I am sure the players feel worse than us.  Just have to enjoy the team for the team and hope it gets better.  They have so much talent, but coaching is definitely not doing great, aside form Hartline.  He has the WR doing amazingly, and I guess Ryan Day is doing his job.  It would be interesting to see what happened if Urban walked away.  Think Day would be the de facto heir?

I think Day is next in line.  He brought a fire when he was out there that we have been lacking since.  Probably should find a new DC and bring in James Laurinaitis and/or Bobby Carpenter on the defensive side for some new blood (both have shown interest in coaching).

I guess the other option would be Luke Fickell but, I would prefer Day.

Seems there was some negotiating after his start.  He does seem to have a fire, and he will be the next hot coach to be pursued.  Get Laurinaitis in somewhere.  Bring younger guys with a fire and a love of the Buckeyes in and let's see what happens.

Fickell has recruited great down here. Hope he stays for a few years, but I have a feeling Purdue will come calling if Brohm leaves for Louisville....

I usually am staying at one of the area hotels when I come in for a game, so I do not worry about parking much.  But when I have driven in on the morning of the game I have parked in the Student Union garages pretty easily...just a walk across the Oval from there.

Everytime i go,  I come down 315 and get off at Ackerman, then left on Olentangy.  We park in the lots near the tailgating there on the left.   It's not too bad of a walj and it's an easy exfil back the way you came.

This is what I ended up doing, mostly because of the lane I ended up in and lots of people were going that way. In the Shoe now! 

 
Enjoyed the game in spite of all the frustrating things that happened.

One player that impressed me was Brendon White. For us in our 40’s, you probably remember his dad who played for the Buckeyes, William White, who is fighting ALS.

I believe Brendon came in when Fuller was disqualified (TERRIBLE CALL!). I also think that Brendon is a true freshman. He was all over the place and probably had close to ten tackles (which tells you how bad our line and LBers are). He was incredible! 

I am dreading The Game this year. If nothing changes in the next 3 weeks, we are going to get smoked. 

 
Big recruiting weekend.  Flipped RB Marcus Crowley from Miami.  Staff is really high on this kid.  He takes Sampson James' spot.  Then got a 2020 commit in WR Jaxon Smith-Njiiba.  We needed a couple to get it going.

Not liking the delay with Zach Harrison and I think at this point I am accepting he will go somewhere else.  Weird couple of recruiting years between Carman and Harrison, but :shrug:
