Brandon Flowers (1 Viewer)

Why does BMW being out matter, exactly? I'd still expect Seattle to throw a lot because they can't run very well. They still have Obomanu, Butler, and Stokely, while Golden Tate is probable for the 1st time in a month. Granted they'll probably spread it around more w/o BMW, but who's to say Arenas would be the one covering him anyway.

A bigger worry for me is that McCluster might be back as he practiced in full all week. How many kick/punt returns will he take away from Arenas?

Also, are we sure that Arenas is Flowers backup? Who else do they have at CB? Might someone leap frog him while he stays at the nickel?

BTW, Flowers is doubtful and not expected to play. Sorry to subsume this thread with Arenas queries.

edit:

Found this

As per usual, their being coy and won't name a replacement, but, unfortunately, I found this quote rather telling:

“That goes with the theory of don’t weaken two spots,” Haley said of moving the primary nickel cornerback outside.

And then there was this:

"DB Ricky Price...finished last Sunday’s game at cornerback after Flowers had left with a hamstring concern and would obviously be an option to replace Flowers again this weekend"

Arenas stayed in the nickel yesterday, and Jackie Bates/Travis Daniels replaced Flowers out wide. Not that it mattered much, Arenas was still out there almost every play since the Seahawks were down the whole game.

Ok, so he's active for week 13. What the hell does this mean?

My inclination is to think that he'd only be active if they intended to play him a lot. Is this off-base?

Chiefs LCB Brandon Flowers suffered an undisclosed injury in Sunday's win over the Broncos.

Beat writer Kent Babb doesn't know what Flowers injured but reports that "it was bad enough that two guys were lifting him and carrying the guy toward the locker room." He might have aggravated his hamstring injury. We'll update you on his status when more is known.
