Brandon Jackson vs. Lions (1 Viewer)

Packers will get ahead early vs. the poor Lions defense and with Grant's hamstring issues, he may get pulled early (or may not play at all) in favor for Jackson.

What can we expect from Jackson this week?

I think 110 Rush yds, 2 TD / 4 receptions, 35 Rec yds sounds right.

Could happen, but doubt it. I do like Brandon Jackson as a sleeper this year. His rookie season, he was thrown into the fire too early and overwhelmed.

Jackson averaged 1.7 vs the Vikes. While a hamstrung Grant averaged 7.7.

He isnt anywhere near Turner, Norwood or Grant. He's cottonball s-o-f-t.

He makes for a good flex play, as long as the concussion is nothing serious. I would be more comfortable thinking he might get 100 total and maybe a touchdown.

I hope someone picks up and plays Brandon Butterfingers Jackson against me. I was very unimpressed with what I saw in him Monday

I agree, but this is the Lions defense we are talking about here.

Brandon Jackson reminds me a lot of Tatum Bell. Like Tatum, he's a soft player that can't carry a full load unless it's Rudi Johnson's bag.

true, but if grant is fine (which he is as far as I know) I think they keep him in even if they are up, they guy hasnt played much at all before last week.

Jackson went for 113 yards on 20 carries (with 2 for 22) and no paydirt week 17 against the Lions. Could be the only time in his career he eclipses 100 yds. I totally agree w/ the bolded above. I still picked him up in a league thinking Grant might not be ready to go (which it doesn't appear he fully is)... but he looks good despite battling the hammy.

Despite last years rumble against the Lions and the pathetic rush defense in the first game, I would rather have 5 carries from Grant then even attempt to have Jackson in my starting lineup, dude ran hard against Minny but looked out of sync with the line and put his head into the grass prior to contact, regression? The pack inserted Grant despite not being 100% and looked much better with him on the field. That said I might risk it if Grant is a game time scratch and hope against hope that Jackson has Detroit's number

I wouldn't be so quick to assume the Packers are going to be up big early. This is still a division away game for the Packers against a Lions team that may be a little angry after last weeks game. It is Rodgers first road test, and Calvin Johnson may have his way with Al Harris. I am not saying the Lions will win, but this is not a mail it in game.

So if Grant's hamstring acts up, and Jackson's concussion turns out to be more serious than they're saying, who's the guy to grab?

Exactly the reason they may keep Jackson and Grant out for most of the game. I think Kregg Lumpkin gets the majority of the touches on Sunday.

Kregg Lumpkin, a rookie UDFA from Georgia, is the 3rd RB. Also, DeShawn Wynn is on the practice squad and could get called up.

Just because the Lions missed tons of tackles in week 1 DOES NOT mean it will happen again. Teams do learn from their mistakes and do practice in the next week to try and improve, you know. Also, Michael Turner is one of the toughest RBs to tackle. With his size, speed and power, he is very tough to bring down by the 1st guy. Good luck though if you are gonna rely on a back up RB winning because you assume a team is going to be winning and so they will bench their #1 RB etc etc.....

Jackson looks like a completely different player this year.

he's strong and fast. just needs to learn how to be an NFL running back... patience and trust his blockers.
