Brandon Stokley returning this week (1 Viewer)

Brandon Stokley is expected to return this week from his ankle injury. Whats his projected value the rest of the season? Before he got injured, there was lots of talk that the Colts/Manning would be passing alot more this year with Edge gone, especially in the red zone.

Any chance that Stokley puts up similar numbers to his 2004 season where he put up ~1100 yards, and 10 TDs (pro-rated of course because he has missed a few games)? Is it a 'shark move' to pick Stokley up now?

It's very rare that you should ever consider handcuffing a wide receiver. But with two stars in Wayne and Harrison, and a QB like Manning, and a commitment to throw the ball...Stokley has value if you have room for him on your bench.

But as a starter with everyone healthy? A very risky bye-week fill-in at best.

Stokelys one catch this year was in the red zone... I think it was a 10 yard TD... A healthy stokely is very important for the Colts as it gives them 3 legit WR, which they are lacking right now...

If he's healthy, I can see him putting up surprising numbers... and giving a boost to the passing game in Indy... It will take pressure off the run game and give Manning a nice red zone target..

I can see him getting back to 2004 numbers

Another thing to consider - he's the vertical threat in that offense, so if he's healthy he's dangerous. Problem is that I beleive he has the dreaded "high-ankle-sprain" which could limit him all season.

That said, I have him stashed away on my bench for a late-season run. If you have the room, he's got more upside than anyone else out there.

I'm not planning to start him this year but if something does happen to Harrison or Wayne he would be a solid WR2.

Time to revive this thread to get some insight on Brandon Stokley. Is he ever coming back and can be a viable WR this year or should we just write him off until next year?
