I saw the Patriots Tate injured a knee and was placed on the IR, was this the same

knee he injured in college ?

Just curious if he needed any additional surgey or just the fact he was way behind with the offense.

Any insight on the injury as we all know it's tough to get reports out of NE.

Um, he's sick. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

There has been little news about Tate coming out of Foxboro. Not sure if it's good or bad. My instinct is that the injury wasn't serious (he didn't head to the locker room and was doing the stationary bike, which guy's with serious knee injuries usually don't do; sure they might walk off under their own power, but they don't cycle.)

Anyway, I'm thinking that it probably would have been another couple weeks before he could play, and BB figured that they were better off using the roster spot for someone else (see Stanback, Isiah) rather than wait for a PUP'd rookie coming off an ACL injury to recover from another leg injury, and just shelved the kid.

For dynasty purposes, I think he's still an interesting prospect as he could be the WR3 next year.

Anyone going to hold him in dynasty? Even in an IR/Taxi spot league?

I have him on IR/Taxi in a pretty deep dynasty and I think I'm going to cut bait. You have to figure it will be another 2 years after this year until you really see soemthing and you have to consider he was a project type luxury pick at WR anyways. What's everyone doing with him moving forward if this 2nd tear is the case?

I'm holding. I am willing to wait for talent.

So it sounds like you're hoping for a Sidney Rice type situation or comparing it to something along those lines. A guy with all talent and physical specs, but was hurt his first 2 years...then finally hit and showed the talent we all thought and hoped he had. But to me, this situation is worse. Multiple tears now it looks like and we are supposed to sit on him for close to two years in a dynasty and watch other younger upside players get scooped cause your roster is jammed up. Rice actually saw the field and showed something his first two years and had a lot better college resume to go off of. Believe me I love what I see on tape when I go back and watch him, you can see the explosiveness and potential. By time he shows up healthy, they see what they've got and he fights through and earns a starting spot...we'll be talking Brady's retirement.

I think he is toast, at least for the next year or two. He probably wouldn't have had a huge impact because of Moss/Welker for a while if he was healthy, but he has had some pretty serious injuries as well.

Ditto. He was going to be lingering behind Moss and Welker for a couple of years anyway, so this doesn't really change anything. It helps that my league rewards punt return yardage, and in that scoring system Tate's got big-time upside.
