I think some of us are letting our imaginations get the better of us.
Mike was tailing Walt. Gus made the call. The discussion we had earlier in the thread about Gus' openness with his operation is now moot. Gus now knows he can't operate like he did before with what has happened.
Hank is lashing out at Marie because she's there and he's projecting his frustration on her. People who lose the ability to walk all of the sudden, have to #### in a bed pan and rely upon others for things they use to do for themselves aren't generally very nice to be around.

Other than the fact of how it will "look" to leave your newly paralyzed husband, is there a reason she hasn't walked out on him? It's nice to stand by your man and all, but everyone has a threshold for how much s##t they can eat.
The whole "for better or worse" thing means something to some people. It's not like she doesn't know why it's happening. Plus, it's a temporary situation. It's not like he's permanently paralyzed. He probably won't ever be what he was. But he just needs time to re-train his legs.

Well, they are married. I'm guessing she pledged to stay with Hank for life, "for better or worse" and "in sickness and in health" as part of her marriage vows.ETA: Christo beat me to it.

Observation: at the beginning of the episode, Jessie had a roomba cleaning up after him. I thought that was hilarious, btw. However by the end of the show, one of the low life's he hangs out with has taken the roomba apart. Allegory to jessies life: no matter how many things he does to try and clean up, some hanger on from the past drags him back to being a mess.

Only thing I didnt like about this episode is how Walt was handling himself. If this was the first episode that I have ever seen, I might be inclined to think that Walt is a little bit of a buffoon. He just wasnt his normal intelligent self. 
no doubt it was GusWell I think that was kind of the point. Virtually all of his decisions so far have been the right ones. Call it cocky, confident, whatever...but he thought taking out Gus was his only move from here on out. When he got the call from Gus, who was clearly one step ahead of him at that point....he realized it. Mike pretty much reinforced it.The only thing I'm a little confused on is what was the point of Mike giving him the mini beatdown at the end? What I'm a little surprised by is that it seems clear that Mike is really shaken up over Gus' box cutter scene. You go back and watch when Gus begins to use the box cutter, Mike actually pulls his gun with a WTF/am I going to shoot you look on his face. You would have thought he had seen it all. Seems like Walter believes now he can convince Mike to go on his side and eliminate Gus if not Walt wouldn't have attempted to bring up that conversation with Mike in the bar.

Yea, don't get that as well. He did like to brew his own beer so perhaps this was the only thing to keep his mind off of it but still don't know why it's minerals.

It could be but remember when Mike went into the warehouse and began to kill people off (ended with shooting the guy through the wall)? He was so calm and cool, never flinch even when people were shooting at him. This is his boss who didn't have a gun so it's not as if Mike's life was in danger (he was far away). Perhaps it was also done to ramp up the scene as much as possible. Mike definitely doesn't seem like himself since that scene which to a contract killer seemed bizarre.

Maybe since he can't be around crystal meth he wants the next best thing, natural crystal. Can't think of anything on this show that was just random then never explained.

You said "reaction" and thought your reply to me was that he pulled his gun because it's a natural reaction. Could be but found that odd given how calm he's been in a prior multiple killing. He's always calm in every scene I can remember him being in except box cutter.

He's usually in control of every situation and more often than not anticipates what might happen.
It makes no sense your way. If it was planned by Mike and Gus, why did Mike do it behind Walt and Jessie's back? The writer's purpose was to show that what Gus did was so unexpected even Mike freaked.
I just read it as another look into Hank's personality. He's clearly OCD about his work and his hobbies (first brewing and now rocks).

You might be on to something.Gale said that he didn’t know where the blue color of Walt’s meth came from.
Perhaps the connection of the minerals is that Hank’s obsessive research intersects with Walt’s recipe source.

Wouldn't it be great if Walt takes a look at Hank's minerals and tells him they're pieces of crap?
Either way I think Hank is going to get Walt going on the minerals. He may finally start to respect Walt's knowledge of chemistry and try to get him to help tracking down the meth. Walt can even play Hank and lead him right to Gus.

I never said it was planned my Mike and Gus. I think it's possible that Mike ends up helping Walt kill Gus but never know with this show.Not once has Mike ever flinched no matter what the situation came his way. Just found it odd that he is working for a man who is far from good to be shocked and pull his weapon just because Gus pulled out and used a box cutter. Mike seems like he's been through and done stuff that most people have never imagined.

Well if we are to believe that Walt is going to do something that will clearly make him an evil person beyond belief, I could see Hank figuring it out it's Walt who he's been chasing all this time while Walt in his room then Walt ends up suffocating with a pillow or killing him in some sick way. You know if Hank figures out it's Walt he'll want to make 100% sure and want Walt to admit it to him face to face.

So what, he's out of shape and lays in bed most of the time. Plus he couldn't out muscle Walt. Another situation which would make Walt come off as more evil is Walt realizes that Hank is about to figure out it's him then kills him off. Make it look like Hank had an accident and killed himself.
