Breaking - Kareem Hunt RELEASED and unclaimed (1 Viewer)

What would you like to see happen to the 19 year old girl?
why does saying that it's not all on Hunt's shoulders and not 100% of what happened should be his fault automatically means something should be done to the girl? I think she got already punished enough. I'm not talking about the girl, I'm talking about Hunt....I don't get why it's so hard to understand that some of us think it's not 100% his fault. The degree of reaction and violence he used is 100% wrong but what lead to it is not all his fault. It shouldn't be that hard to understand.

I'd be willing to bet that 99% of the times when males physically abused a female, it was not totally unprovoked. Not sure where you're going with this.

Multiple league executives expect former Chiefs’ RB Kareem Hunt to go unclaimed on waivers:

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/25430798/multiple-executives-expect-former-kansas-city-chiefs-rb-kareem-hunt-go-unclaimed-waivers
I hear what he's saying here but here is also from the same article: "But Hunt, 23, is still on a rookie contract that would have two years remaining after this season -- at base salaries of $575,000 in 2019 and $735,000 in 2020. The only thing more appealing than a superstar player is a superstar player on a rookie contract."

That's exactly why I think some will claim him at some point in time.

He was coached well. Good interview. Who knows if he truly means it but he said the right things.

That's exactly where I'm going with this...if women in general would stop thinking that they can hit a guy safely because they feel somewhat protected by their "woman status" then maybe, there would be less domestic violence going both ways. that's where I'm going. Woman have no more rights to hit a guy than a guy hitting a woman. Both should be punished the same way.

I watched the Mixon video this morning - way more violent than the Hunt video

Mixon is playing, hunt will again too. He's paid for the mistakes he's made by losing his team and money and there will be a suspension and that's fair punishment I think.

Chiefs look to be taking a stand.

NFL loses again by having possessed this story/video for months without acting.

gotta love my wife...I showed her this thread and the video, she then turns towards our two boys and our daughter...she looks at her first and says, see, when you act like a hoe, you get treated like a hoe...don't be a hoe, be smart with whom you hang out, treat people with respect, you will be treated the same....then she looks at my boys and she says, if a girl one day comes at you swinging, don't retaliate because society will make you pay for it, even tough you might just defend yourself. Instead, come to see me and I will make sure that woman never comes at you ever again....

LMAO....married 20 years, this woman still amazes me sometimes.....just saying.
Good to see parents who take the time to parent.

Teaching your kids to respect others as well as themselves goes a long way in life.  I am constantly amazed as a parent and grandparent by how many parents have a hard time talking to their kids as a parent.  They want to be their “buddy” so easier to make excuses for them than to direct or discipline when necessary.

Nice work.

This country definitely needs leaders like you to put their foot down and take a stand for the poor guys who beat up women because they can become a bit unruly at times. Keep fighting the good fight. And protect world class athletes who beat up 19 year old girls

So is his contract null and void now or whatever team grabs him has to honor it? If the NFl sets it at 6 games, then he's a steal. A 1-2nd round talent for free. Short term negative publicity impact.

From what I've heard, the NFL saw this tape the same day you saw and I saw it. They did not have this video.

Way to take out of context once again. You are really on a roll.

Now you are becoming quite stupid buddy. Again, read my posts, you are playing dumb right or you didn't take the time to read them and for some reasons, you are coming after me. Either way, let me summarize in simple words for you what I said in this thread.

Hunt deserves the punishment.

Hunt went way too far with the way he reacted.

Hunt should have NEVER used that much violence to retaliate.

Hunt needs to be punished for this and I hope he will be for a while.

Now with that said, I see people here who are also defending the girl completely and think 100% of what happened is his fault. I say no freaking way. She hit him twice, she kept coming at him and kept being pushed away by other people so she could stay away from Hunt...she kept coming....so I'm sorry man, I understand you don't get it....but I'm telling you, she created this situation as much as he did and for this, he also deserves a second chance once he pays his sentence.

The NFL is investigating a secon incident that happened in June with Hunt. He is done

ehhh ... It may be some time but he'll play. Much younger and has plenty of juice left unlike Rice.
If Joe Mixon is in the NFL then anyone could be. Nothing worse than what he did. He punched a women who he didn't even know as hard as he could and literally broke her face. He could've easily killed her but didnt even do jail time ... misdemeanor?

Joe Mixon wasn’t under a NFL contract. Hunt is or was.

Using some people’s reasoning in here she struck Mixon first so there’s fault for both.

And using the other side of other people's reasoning here, it's ok for women to hit a man...the guy should just take it and walk away.

We all agree that the degree of violence used is the reason for punishment and it's justified to punish him....no one here argued this piece but you guys are making look like it's also ok for a woman to hit a guy...come on....let's get real here.

Which is very reflective of exactly what is wrong with our society.
Is it?

Should this be a life sentence... never be allowed to work again type of offense?

Wow. You would see a spike in this stuff if that were the case. Belichick would be paying hookers to bait opposing players.

Yeah, basically, he's still under his rookie contract this year and next year which basically makes him a first round top notch talent pretty cheap. This is why, even though he bring negative publicity with him, I would be chocked if no team claims him....maybe not this season but next season, he will play somewhere. You basically can pick him up for less than a million a year.

If the SJW's have their way it would be a life sentence from working.

I thought the Chiefs were crazy for cutting him. This will be forgotten quickly.

There are so many others that have done so much worse playing right now... no way he misses another minute longer than he has to via league ruling.

Yeah.  It's nice work to teach kids to call people they've never met a "hoe."  Definitely sends a good message.

The key isn't whether the league lets him play, but whether the public crucifies him so much that he gets blackballed.  I don't expect that to happen compared to other offenses committed by players who are currently playing.

Just saw his interview on ESPN. He has a lot more class than a lot of the posters here. Never once did I hear him try to blame the 19 year old girl. It may be simply because the video got out, but I think he is remorseful. I would like to see him suspended for an entire year, but I would like to see him get a second chance after some counseling. He doesn't seem like a bad guy, just a guy with some anger issues who made a terrible decision..
He is back peddling. If he was classy, he would have been truthful.

Public got over Tyreek Hill pretty fast; choked/punched his pregnant girlfriend - to - toast of the town.

This will pass... fast.

He should serve his punishment and we can question his sincerity, but at the end of the day all he can do is apologize, pay his fines, serve his suspensions and move on.  It's not up to us to decide a man's future livelihood.

What context? This is a football site and we're discussing a football player who physically attacked a 19 year old girl. There are some here using it as a platform to defend beating up women if they were acting unruly.  It's one of the most disgusting things I've seen on this site since I've been here.

If I owned an NFL team and needed a RB, I've already claimed this guy and retired to my bomb shelter for a few days. Trump will do something and the media will move back towards him, leaving me with a 3 down RB for free and no draft pick used.

Hunt was very fortunate to not have these guys advising him and prepping him for his interview.

Agreed. She was probably just there for the cocaine... then off to church!
You sound like you weren't smart enough to handcuff Ware. Only reason I can explain a male acting like a 19 year old girl was to blame for what Hunt did. Disgusting.

Seems like a keeper.

Kareem hunt had opportunities to return to the room.  He also had opportunities to stay away from the girl so she was not able to physically reach him.  He also had opportunities to let the smaller, weaker, not intimidating women have her say and leave.

Instead Kareem hunt chose to stay and eaclalte the conflict, he chose to push his way toward the girl instead of staying away from her and he chose to kick the girl after her head hit the wall and she was on the ground, woozy

Kareem hint isc100% responsible for hos actions and the choices he made that ended with him kickingvthd girl.

In professional sports.....yes. The amount of public exposure and money they are being paid (MLB, NHL, NBA, NFL). This is not and should not be tolerated by owners. I know I would have a zero tolerance policy on violence against women. Simply unacceptable. The amount of justification type posts in here is embarrassing. Not your post....but some of the “well she was asking for it” type of posts.

My god man.

Agreed, BUT here's the problem that I am having with this... there are wives/mothers that get knocked around and feel trapped, protective of their children... real tragic, victims that feel they have to suck it up and let these monsters continue to abuse them.

It will sound like I am making an excuse for Hunt, but not the same case here. Not sure what her end game was, or goals for the night, but not a smart place to put herself in to begin with and even dumber move to go back and try to kick some ####. She's lucky to survive it.

And there it is. Anyone who doesn’t agree with you is either morally bankrupt or has Hunt on their fantasy team.

Such an intelligent come back
Yes. Anyone who watches that video and thinks maybe the girl deserved it, IS morally bankrupt. Inarguably.
