Breaking News - Terrell Owens Rushed to local hospital (1 Viewer)

FYI, the 10 o'clock news broadcast on CBS11 in DFW is being repeated on air right now, in case anyone cares to look for the first breaking new report. I assume it came near the end of the broadcast.

I believe the video now online at http://cbs11tv.com/homepage that I posted earlier may be the follow up story that preempted the David Letterman broadcast.
I just watched it. As expected, it was right at the end of the broadcast. What the original posters failed to point out is that they twice said "reliable sources" were giving them the news. They also mentioned rescue operations had "no comment" on whether they made a call to TO's home.

I'm a firefighter. No fire department is going to give out information to the media about a medical call. It's unethical and illegal.

Hence the "no comment".

Channel 8 is reporting this (obtained police report)...they just mentioned it on The Ticket...

WTF???

He told police that he took 35 of his pain pills and he was trying to harm himself...

theticket.com

they're talking about it now

One of the local newsstations (dallas channel 8) and the ticket.com are reporting that according to a police report this was an attempted suicide. Apparently Owens took 35 pain pills.

I read that he had an allergic reaction to his pain meds.

Based on what I have seen of TO, attempted suicide would be a most unlikely scenario.

This radio just reported the following recap:

--taken to hospital

--told police he attempted suicide by taking too much of his pain meds

--Still hospitalized at Baylor

Yeah, it's like grand jury testimony . . .

Wow this is sad.

I'm an Eagle fan so I have my reason not to like T.O. But he has shown many signs of being a unstable person in the past. So this doesn't totally surprise me.

this no BS on what is being reported I am listening to the same station. Whether the report itself is false, I don't know, but this is the same info I am hearing

35 pain pills in an attempted suicide reported from channel 8 by way of theticket.com

With regard to the original poster, and someone else, I forget who exactly...First of all, please refer to Koya's sig. Secondly, we like to think we have a solid NFL forum here. Yes, there are tons who try to be funny too often. Those were the guys in the back of your Algebra class that didn't quite grasp the concept of "appropriate time and place". However, we try to hold our board up to a higher standard than the competition. If that means some hurt egos and cracked eggshells and some trampled on amendments, then so be it. I love my country and I say to hell with anyone that tries to piss in our pool, even if they weren't really trying to piss in our pool, or something like that.:OliverNorthPose:
while I'd love to keep this going about, and only about TO, I need to say that as an admin you aren't representing FBG well at all. This last one pretty much covers you and you should be stating things like this more often. Telling someone to stop pissing in our pool isn't too inviting. When you have the "admin" or "staff" or "whatever" you're telling me that FBG are cold people. that makes me not want to join. just an FYI to the rest of the staff who, without a doubt, do a great job.
i always thought mods should be like umpires... the best ones did their jobs without being noticed or making a scene... the ones who made lousy calls and got all in the players' faces (as if anyone in attendance was there to see THEM) would end up ruining the game. just a thought
That is a great analogy.
Not really, because the umps don't tend to have an ownership interest in the games they preside over while these mods do.

WTF? They are just looping the same 45 seconds of talk between commercials

Talk about how media reps lie and blwo credibillity

Recap as I posted above

go to commercial

wash, rinse, repeat. <_<

WTF are you guys talking about?? They had to go to commercial and it was mentioned in their "Ticker" tease and then during the Ticker itself...

What the hell are you talking about?
My stream is yielding the exact same "talk" looped over and over again, inbetween different sets of commercials. I've just heard the 3rd or 4th iteration of it.Edit: maybe the stream is getting crushed with traffic, but I still don't understand how that would happen.

Channel 8 reporter

Depressed

Filled bottle with 45 pills

taken only 8

Then someone saw him take a bunch and someone saw him do this and put finger down throat and didn't work

So at the time he said he took remainder of perscription

on furthur interview he said he was atempting to harm himself

Officers that responded to scene and that responded to talk to him said this.

DPD reports it as attempted suicide

I see...the stream must be F'd up...

They just had a channel 8 reporter on...she read from the police report...

37 pain pills would do it, assuming no tolererance. Wow.

WEEI sports radio in Boston says that the police report is due out within about a half an hour...and contrary to the ESPN drug reaction reports from Ed Werder, noting that a Dallas news station is referencing police reports that this was an attempted suicide...

You guys can stop posting link from last last night. Some of us live in the Dallas area and are getting the news from radio stations and television as it happens.

Thanks, but that was posted yesterday according to the release at the top of the article and we're aware of that story. This thread is about the breaking attempted suicide news NOW

Based on what I have seen of TO, attempted suicide would be a most unlikely scenario.
As fans ... I'd think we're too distant from the underlying personnas of the players to have any real insight.
Exactly! How would anyone that has never met him know what is doing on inside his head?
Because those sounds he utters are called "words".
 Really? So when has he ever stated..."I'm messed up and will try and kill myself or do something to myself for a cry for help"?

Sorry charley. It was the first link I found. Here's another.Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens ingested a large amount of prescription pain medication in a suicide attempt, according to a Dallas police report released Wednesday morning.

The report indicates that when police asked Owens if he had tried to harm himself, he said yes.

A team source said Tuesday night that Owens had suffered an allergic reaction to pain medication Tuesday night and was admitted to Baylor Medical Center.

Owens left the hospital early this morning and police said they would make a statement during "working hours." A news conference will be held later today, police said.

Terrell Owens' publicist, Kim Etheridge, said of the incident, "This is not serious." The source said Owens' status is unknown for today's practice and for the Cowboys' game Sunday at the Tennessee Titans.

I say we all wait till we hear what comes out of TO's mouth before we go by initial claims on a police report. If the report is true, I hope TO can find whatever it is his life is lacking.

This is a sitiuation where the media needs to back the #### off.

Thanks for trying to help but this report is not current

I thought he was realeased from the hospital allready?

But then again you would think he would have allready had pretty much every pain med there is throughout his career and would not have a reaction from one now.

exactly why I thought it was fishy last night.

So you think Owens is the model of stability? :lmao: If you're waiting on him to yell to the world, "I'm unstable!", then you should just return to your coloring books.

T.O. is like a REAL bad reality show.

...and remember, despite this... despite Maurice Clarett's saga... despite Rae Carruth's demise... despite the Bengals woes with the law... despite Steve Foley getting shot... despite Kiel dealing drugs... ESPN's "PLAYMAKERS" was a farce according to the NFL, and they got the show cancelled by pressuring ESPN.
