Breakouts, Sleepers, Busts (2 Viewers)

QB

Breakout - Carr

Sleeper - T-Mobile

Bust - Palmer

RB

Breakout - Miller (going to kill it in Houston)

Sleeper - Derrick Henry (Murray is glass and this kid is a brick wall with speed)

Bust - Charles (loved him for a long time but 2nd ACL will take it's toll)

WR

Breakout - Cooper (Superstar in the making)

Sleeper - Travis Benjamin (A real QB throwing him the ball...lot's of big plays in store)

Bust - K.Benjamin (Not in shape, big man with weight, will not round into form till mid season, red flags abound)

TE

Breakout - Fleener - Brees....nufff said

Sleeper - Walford - Huge talent

Bust - Green - Ertz - QB situation now a nightmare

SLEEPER: Mariota. Love pairing him in late rounds with a Cousins/Ryan/etc...

BREAKOUT: WR = Corey Coleman. Will likely lack consistency with RG3, being a rookie and Gordon returning soon but it's hard to imagine him not popping off for several big highlight reel plays this season. Even if their team sucks, I think their pass offense, which likely inconsistent, could be fantasy friendly over the whole season. Given their respective prices, I like pairing him and Gordon. I understand Hue wants to run, but their strength is passing and their defense is terrible. TE = Jared Cook. He's burned us so many times. I think he's gonna add a lot to that offense.

BUST- Coby Fleener. I've seen him ranked around TE5. Even saw someone saying he could finish TE1.

I'm calling Langford as one of the biggest busts of the year.

Load up on Jordan Howard wherever you can.
Im not a fan of langford or any other Chicago players. If Alshon makes it through the season he might be all right but thats about it

I like Fleener to bust as well.

Ware is my sleeper. When Brady took over he never let go. Ware might do the same.

TY Hilton is my breakout. He could take it to Antonio Brown levels.

Purposefully trying to pick less obvious choices so here goes...

Breakout: DGB

I know what you're thinking, the guy has no idea how to play the sport of football. Sure, I'll give you that, but I think a change of scenery is enough for him to try and prove people wrong for at least half of a season. Let's not forget this guy was playing w/ a rookie QB last yr and managed to put up decent #s playing 56% of snaps. In Pederson's offense all he needs to do is run fades slants and go's. Would not surprise me to see DGB supplant Agholor (who's shown little interest in making a career out of football) as early as this week. Mayock said it best: "He has no idea what he's doing, but he doesn't need to...."  The Eagles seem to me like one of those week one "where did that come from" teams that will play like they've got little to lose.

Sleeper: Alfred Morris

We all expect Morris to be instant RB1 value if Elliott gets hurt, that's a given. But my eyes tell me that Morris looked like the better RB in preseason. Quicker feet, better vision. FF is a game of chasing trends, and everybody wants THIS YEAR'S Todd Gurley.... well guess what, even Gurley was eased in (yea I know he was hurt) and he wasn't exactly stellar in his debut. Somewhere along the line during preseason Elliott was crowned a 3 down workhorse back... based on a week 3 preseason game? Sorry, but using preseason (even week 3) to project snap counts is a rookie move. Would not surprise me to see more of a timeshare in week one, with Alf getting the edge in YPC and yards.

Bust: Eddie Lacy

I've read all the reports about how Lacy's lost weight, gotten in shape in the offseason and I don't buy it. Don't believe me? Watch his preseason highlights, then watch tape from his rookie/sophmore seasons. You'll be left wondering how many people he's eaten since then... Looks aside, he is also noticeably slower both in terms of quickness and top end speed. Jerome Bettis carried his weight well, Lacy does not... and definitely not at his current playing weight. And please don't counter with preseason YPC... Lacy was actually effective when given the bulk of carries even last season too, but look how that went. Point is, the guy look more like 2015 Lacy than 2013 Lacy, and if I can see that from a TV camera suspended above a stadium, then McCarthy can certainly tell in the team cafeteria when Lacy goes for his third helping of chicken fried steak.

He lost me when he said he finds merit in Zero-RB Theory.
It's been quite successful for me the past 2-3 years in PPRs.. Although I have kind of zagged away from it as so many have zigged towards it.

Your take on E. Lacy got me laughing.   Great understated comedic writing.  Thanks.

Breakout: Matthew Stafford, Mike Evans, Lamar Miller

Busts: Cam Newton, DeAndre Hopkins, Thomas Rawls

Sleepers: Jameis Winston, Jeremy Langford, Tyler Boyd and Marvin Jones (if he is considered a sleeper?)

Why in the world would DeAndre Hopkins bust?  I wish I owned him.

I wondered about this as well, but I will say this: last year at the 1.02 spot, I had a choice between Hopkins and Alshon Jeffery in the 2nd. And despite the hammy injury in preseason, I took Jeffery instead of Hopkins because I was worried about the commitment to the run game, the questionable QB, a team With a great defense not needing to air it out, etc, etc.

Almost the same exact line of reasoning as you have here.

So i took Jeffery, in perhaps the most frustrating fantasy season I've ever had from any player, while Hopkins blew up (including 2x against me since the dude who picked him a couple spots later was in my division).  :wall:

I chose poorly.
Glad I stayed away from Hopkins this year.
