Brent Celek (1 Viewer)

After starting the season with five straight weeks of little use in the offense, Brent Celek has now gotten nine attempts in three straight games, while putting up lines of 4/41/1, 7/94/1, and 7/60. He is the third ranked TE in the NFL over those three games, just behind Gronkowski and Gates.

Do you feel that these numbers are able to be sustained, or will he disappear again in this offense?

With teams now trying to take away the deep routes, realizing that Vick struggles when he has to go through his read progressions and make intermediate throws, they are forcing Vick to use his McCoy and Celek outlets more often.

Unless you have one of the top 5 guys, Celek seems like a nice plug in going forward. The Eagles still move the ball pretty well, and their defense is awful. Good recipe for success here.

Celek is going to have a down week this week vs Arizona while djax and maclin go ape.

But in weeks where Philly plays teams with a fierce pass rush start celek with confidence as he is now one of Vicks top hot reads while getting blitzed.

in the mold(prolly more mobile) of Vick's old favorite target Crumpler. with the OL kinda doing a better job he's releasing more and like stated in earlier reply teams are staying way back with the safeties to prevent the big plays and leaving the short/intermediate over the middle open for Celek. Vick also looks for McCoy and Celek immediately when pressured, which is alot. he's a buy in my book

on a different TE not, anyone else keeping a eye peeled towards Jacob Tamme? with Clark/Eldrige out Tamme will get every snap and like Garcon, Tamme has had prolly more practice time with Painter. Watchiing Tamme last year i was very surprised with his zone reading and soft hands. he can't move like Clark but he wasn't that far off either.

Oline got healthy 3 weeks ago, with Peters coming back. Not a coincidence that Celek jumped back up in production as he was released from blocking every play. As others have stated, with the safeties playing back to account for Desean a lot is opened up in the middle. Celek is a sneaky pickup down the stretch here as I think he will continue to get a ton of looks. He's replaced Vernon as my starting TE until one of them shows me that is a mistake.

We was lined up wid a few times last night catching quick passes at the line and running for yardage. Looked solid. They never got in a rezone throwing situation or else I'm sure he would have had a TD

I have to say I am pleasantly surprised by his re-emergence. I thought he was dead in fantasy. Happy for him and Its these kinds of things that make he hold guys in dynasty so long (sometimes its a blessing; sometimes its a curse).

But after last year when the world had written off Mcfadden before the start fo the season and this year with a guy like celek, it makes me (perhaps dumbly) keep hanging on to the Morenos and felix joneses of the world.

He is one of the better TE's in football. He lines up wide alot and can beatn gusy for the ball like Whitten. His issues was not talent , its like Vernon Davis. VD is oen of the most talented TE's in football but he stays in and blocks alot. They had line issues and Celek was forced to block. Now that they got there line issues settled a bit (and the middle is wide open due to maclin/Jackson) they send Celek out as a receiver alot now. Hes a good low end TE1 going forward. I also as the above fella did, replaced Vernon Davis with Celek.

Like him more than Fred Davis?
for the reasons stated above as well as Vick's previous reliance on his TE in Atlanta, not to mention that Jackson, frankly, ain't getting separation, I see Celek as a top five TE moving forward. He should get 5-8 receptions for 75 yards per game from here on out. Mix in a couple of TD's and, like I said, he can be a money pickup. I grabbed him when Peters came back and stashed to see what would happen. He's scored double digits every week. Bye Bye Click-Clack.ETA: I'd put Graham/Witten/Gronkowski/Finley/Gates at the same tier as Celek...

I think that (in PPR at least), Celek is one of the most underrated players in fantasy right now. Would you believe that since Week 6, he is the #5 tight end in PPR formats? Yet, he continues to be ranked by most experts (FBG included) outside of the top 10 or 15 every week. In forward rankings, he's considered to be no more than a mid-range TE2. Even people that give him props, like in this week's waiver wire email, they only state that he is valuable for a week or two while Young is the QB. That's false though, as he was already producing before Vick went out. In fact, he was slightly MORE productive with Vick.

Here are his PPR numbers since week six...

Week 6 - 4/42/1 (14.2)

Week 7 - Bye

Week 8 - 7/94/1 (22.4)

Week 9 - 7/60/0 (13.0)

Week 10 - 4/53/0 (9.3)

Week 11 - 6/60/0 (12.0)

Week 12 - 5/75/0 (12.5)

Average of 13.90 points per game. Certainly not the type of scores that will win a game for you, but he is extremely consistent and is a great player for people who don't own the top 3-4 TE's. Personally, I was running with a Jermaine Gresham/Greg Olsen combo with mixed results, and I've been much happier going with Celek on a weekly basis.

Couldn't agree more with this analysis, I had Dallas Clark/Ed Dickson/Jermaine Gresham... much happier with the consistency Celek has brought ... I play in .5 PPR, and getting close to 10 points a week has been huge for my team.. not to mention he has THE BEST FANTASY TE SCHEDULE FOR THE PLAYOFFSAs seen here...

I like him a lot too and also have Vernon who seems to have a bad game every time they have to keep him in to block against good defenses.

That said, what do we do with Celek if the Eagles decide to spend the last few games looking at younger talent like Clay Harbor?
