Brewers Thread - Choo Choo All Aboard the Jackson Chourio Hype Train (2 Viewers)

Machado might be great but the cost he appears to come with is too great for the Brewers.

I'd rather see starting pitching addressed or a lesser known talent at SS. Should trade for Segura.

The Crew trades for 3B Mike Moustakas

Travis Shaw to move to second

Brewers trade for Mike Moustakas

:pickle:

Should help the offense tremendously up and down the lineup but a bit worried about the defense and turning the double play. Price seems very reasonable as well and should leave room to maybe make a move yet for a starting pitcher.

Brewers are 29-29 since June 1st. But, if they can play .500 ball the rest of the season, they'll still be in line for a prospective playoff spot.

That includes 21 games in 20 days into the all Star break (0-7 to end that run really hurt) and 17/17 coming out. Yesterday was their first real day off since June 25th (AS break obvs). No excuses but I think a bunch of days rest down the stretch will be much needed with something like 2/3 of their remaining games against the NL Central.

I would have loved for them to get a SP instead of Moustakas and Schoop.  Their rotation includes some guys who have been pitching over their heads and their depth has already been used because of injury.  Maybe Davies or Nelson will provide that lift but they've both been out for while.

I have no faith it will work, but this softball lineup approach will at least be fun for a few days. Hope it's more.

Yelich is having a second half like Todd Gurley did last year, but it doesn't seem like that many people are noticing it.

He's been ridiculous since the All-Star break.

2 great series with the Cubs. Felt like playoff games. Can't imagine what an actual playoff series with them would be like.

Ultimately, you gotta win the remaining series. Don't scoreboard watch. 10-5 the rest of the way and you should be in good position to take the division. If not, tip your cap to the Cubs who would have earned it.

What's the play here for Brewers fans with the Cards hosting the Dodgers for 4 games? I suppose we want the Cardinals to sweep and put the wildcard completely out of reach?

I guess it doesn't matter as long as the Brewers take care of business in these next 9 games against the Pirates and Reds.

His UZR would be -83?
Yeah I like Davis but he's a better fit in the AL.  I'm more upset about them going with Villar over Gennett.  At the time it seemed like the right call and who knew Gennett would turn into an all star and that Villar would struggle.  Not knocking the front office have the Brewers have made some great moves recently.

Now let's finish up the Cardinals and then turn them lose on the Cubbies.
Agreed.  CO getting red hot is fantastic for the Crew.  Means the Cards and Cubbies have to go all out against each other.  Hopefully the Pirates will keep rolling here.

Dumb question but the Cubs beat the Brewers more during the regular season... so why is there a one game playoff to determine division champ?

12:05 start tomorrow at Wrigley. Quintana starting for the Cubs. Who will it be for the Crew?
I thought Chacin, but they probably would have announced it by now. Thinking they wait on Chacin for Tuesday if needed.

My thought is they start Chase Anderson, but have Freddy P up and ready to go, and then Johnny Wholestaff if needed.

Not dumb at all. Dumb was kicking my ### with 3 players this week,  but I digress.............

Good question, MLB just lets them play it out with no tie breakers until the season ends, is my only explanation.

Best I got

I'm assuming its the reason the game is at Wrigley today, so they got something for it.
