Brian Urlacher does not plan to report to Bears mandatory minicamps.

"My agents and the team had some good dialogue early on," he said of contract talks. "It’s been almost two months since there’s been any action on their end." Urlacher feels it's unfair that had he played poorly the Bears would've cut him, but he gets criticized for playing well and asking for a raise.

Not a big deal. He and the Bears will do something. I can't see him not playing or being traded. He's a Bear.

In the past, when Urlacher missed brief periods with injury, it was Hunter Hillenmeyer who played in the middle. I suppose that might change if Urlacher was out for an extended period, but I'd guess it'd still be Hillenmeyer for now, with either Okwo or Williams stepping in at Hillenmeyer's old spot.Urlacher will play though, so this is likely a non-issue.
