The Tampa Tribune reports that Jason Bartlett will be placed on the disabled list with a right knee sprain.
Bartlett injured his leg sliding into third on Wednesday, and was able to stay in the game, but his knee was reportedly an issue on a throwing error he made. The Rays will promote infielders Ben Zobrist and Reid Brignac to bolster the infield, while RHP Mitch Talbot will be sent back to the minor leagues. Brignac figures to get most of the starts at shortstop, so he could have some short-term value in AL-only leagues.
