Britt + Washington (1 Viewer)

Eminence

Given both of these players ADP, I think it would be a valid strategy to roster BOTH of these guys in Fantasy this year:

Kenny Britt - 6.05

Nate Washington - 12.04

In Britt's absence, Washington went off for:

74 Catches / 1,023 Yards / 7TD

Britt at his current ADP is a steal if he is the player he was before injury. If he struggles, it wouldn't be a stretch to suggest Washington would be the beneficiary.

The logic dictates that one of these two guys will outproduce their ADP, with Britt having the higher ceiling.

This is all subject to change depending on Kendall Wright's rise or fall on the depth chart but one of these guys will drastically outperform where they are being drafted.

Just note that to make this strategy effective, once you draft Britt in the 6th round, you may need to draft Washington a round or two ahead of his ADP, to make sure someone else doesn't grab him first! So if you're considering this route, you may need to compare Washington to guys going earlier.

For example: According to MFL, Washington is currently going at about 14.01. WRs going 1-2 rounds ahead are Malcom Floyd, Lance Moore, Alshon Jeffrey, Mario Manningham, Randall Cobb, Vincent Brown, Austin Collie, and Stephen Hill. http://football.myfantasyleague.com/2012/adp?COUNT=100&POS=WR&CUTOFF=5&FRANCHISES=-1&IS_PPR=-1&IS_KEEPER=0&IS_MOCK=-1&TIME= You'd probably have to be willing to pass those guys up if you want to get Washington.

I haven't looked at many 2012 projections yet, but my gut says you're right that Washington should have an equal/better season than those guys, with the possible exception of Floyd and Moore.

ETA: Of course, note that the MFL ADP tracker has Britt going at 3.04, not in the 6th. I'm not sure that changes much though.

Washington had 13 receptions for 166 yards in the 2 games Britt played last year. I'll take that for a 14th rounder. I think Washington a good WR4 this year with the possiblility of having a WR2 year.

I would take Washington with or without Britt. So the question to me is how risky a pick is Britt given his health status and who else could be had with the same pick. Taking a quick look at some ADP numbers, I might lean towards drafting one of the other WR still on the board. That might change as we got closer to the season if Britt started getting some rave reviews and showed no signs of being slow to recover. Given that he just had knee surgery again 2 weeks ago and he still can't run, that would probably be enough for me to let someone else wonder when and if he can play and at what level.

Kenny Britt eyes return from knee injury by Week 1

The recovery process continues for Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt.

The Tennessean reported Wednesday that Britt is scheduled to start running and cutting again on Thursday for first time since he had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee last month.

Britt, 23, said he's far from 100 percent, nearly nine months after he tore his ACL and MCL last September against the Denver Broncos. The arthroscopic procedure is routine in cases such as Britt's.

"I lost some strength in my leg a little bit (after the scope) and that set me back a little bit," Britt said. "But I start running on the field (Thursday) to see how I feel. They thought it would be next week, so I feel good about that."

At one point during his chat with reporters, Britt hopped off the stool in front of his locker while messing with teammates. It was a sign he's moving well, but Britt said it doesn't mean much in terms football readiness.

"There is no problem with me hopping and skipping and things like that," he said. "Seeing how I can cut. ... I am hoping I'll be back for opening day. Hoping and praying."

The Titans are hoping as well. Britt appeared ready to make the leap last season before he went down in the Titans' third game. If he can get back to what he was, the Titans have one of the league's top young receivers.
