I'm sure the NFL's lawyers are getting ready as we speak.

Yeah it is... It's so close, though. What's with the orange in front of the gator's snout? It's like they plopped the gator down on a slightly bigger bronco head, and you can see some of the bronco sticking out from under. That's terrible.I've been a Bronco fan longer than Tebow's been alive, and a Gator fan since Tebow was in middle school, so ordinarily this is exactly the sort of thing that would be in my wheelhouse- something that combined my love for the Gators and my love for the Broncos in one easily-worn article- but that logo is simply too hideous to bear.
If you find a logo like this offensive, its time you stop taking sports so seriously.I'm pretty sure that is offensive to Gator and Bronco fans everywhere.
I don't find it offensive. Well, let me rephrase that; it doesn't offend my sensibilities, it simply offends my senses. I'm not offended that someone tried to combine the logos, but that logo is offensively hideous. As a Gators fan, comparing Emmitt Smith and Tim Tebow is comparing apples and dump trucks. Emmitt Smith was a beloved athlete, but one of many. He wasn't even the most beloved Gator of the '80s- that would be Wilber Marshall. He was a great running back, but he was no Herschel Walker in college. He was a very good player who became one of many UF first-round draft picks. Tim Tebow, on the other hand, isn't just a garden variety favored son, he's a phenomenon, an entire culture. Between the Heisman as a sophomore, the two national championships, the promise after the Ole Miss game, and the larger-than-life persona, I question whether there's been a player more beloved by his fan base than Tebow in the last 20+ years. He is to Florida what Herschel Walker was to Georgia... but the difference is that Tim Tebow played in the internet age, which makes every phenomenon exponentially bigger. In short, the rules don't apply to Tim Tebow. They never have. The dude was the 24th player taken in the draft for a team with an average-sized fanbase, yet he still has the #1 selling jersey in the NFL. Last year, the biggest market in the nation wound up drafting a top-5 QB and Tebow's jersey sales have DOMINATED Sanchez's. As I said, he's not just a player, he's a phenomenon.I'm pretty sure that is offensive to Gator and Bronco fans everywhere. I don't remember seeing any combinations of alligator and star when Emmitt was with the Cowboys.
Don't be so sure - I could definitely see buying a shirt - it's pretty unique. It kind of sticks it to all those people who said either (a) he wouldn't get drafted in the first round, or (b) he wouldn't get drafted at all.I'm pretty sure that is offensive to Gator and Bronco fans everywhere.
Slightly different circumstances though:1) The Broncos colors are basically the same as the Gators (orange and blue)2) Tebow is the greatest and most well known player in college football history3) Tebow won the Heisman (should have been 3 of them and Emmitt should have won in 1989) and 2 National Championships (should have been 3)4) Tebow stayed through his senior year (Emmitt left after his junior season when Spurrier arrived)I don't remember seeing any combinations of alligator and star when Emmitt was with the Cowboys.
I meant offensive within the realm of sports. Thanks for the life advice though. If you find a logo like this offensive, its time you stop taking sports so seriously.I'm pretty sure that is offensive to Gator and Bronco fans everywhere.
I was in school during the '80s and I strongly disagree with this. Emmitt was the man.As a Gators fan, comparing Emmitt Smith and Tim Tebow is comparing apples and dump trucks. I was young at the time, so perhaps my memory is just cloudy, but I don't recall Emmitt being more beloved than a guy like Rex Grossman. Weurffuel was much more beloved than Emmitt as well, it seems.Either way, as SSOG said, Tebow is certainly on a completely different level of fandom.I was in school during the '80s and I strongly disagree with this. Emmitt was the man.As a Gators fan, comparing Emmitt Smith and Tim Tebow is comparing apples and dump trucks. Emmitt Smith was a beloved athlete, but one of many. That's fierce
I am shocked and appalled.I'm pretty sure that is offensive to Gator and Bronco fans everywhere.
Principle of scarcity; you'll only be able to get a Tebow jersey for a couple of years. In short, the rules don't apply to Tim Tebow. They never have. Even if he busts, a second team will give him a chance, which means you'll have a complete second run of jerseys, at least.Principle of scarcity; you'll only be able to get a Tebow jersey for a couple of years. In short, the rules don't apply to Tim Tebow. "Oh my God, it's awesome," a Gators fan said. "It looks so fierce, so fiery. I'd be afraid to see that in a dark alley."
