**Broncos at Eagles**(-4,43.5) 1:00 (1 Viewer)

It wasn't just that he hit him, but how. He finished it off while driving his shoulder into his head.

He punished him unnecessarily.
No he didn't. He was already diving. Guy was not down when he started. How is he supposed to adjust mid air? If Fanlling gets up and gets the first down it's over.
False. Gets up? Now I know you aren't serious.
If he stays up. You are not serious. He was on his hand.
But you said gets up.

He was stretched out horizontal. Defender could have stayed higher and still covered for your supposed miraculous levitation maneuver. Instead he dropped down intentionally driving down on a guy already flat on the ground. Good call.

Saquon with 9 touches. Wonder why they lost. Hurts sucks.
There's a reason why he runs and needs help crossing the goal line. Denver saw that and limited his runs and, well, you get what you got today. Putting it all on Hurts shoulders to win is not going to win you most games. He's an average passing QB that absolutely needs his running in order to win.

On his hand is irrelevant if the knees are on the ground.
Knees were not on the ground before Bain dove. I know you guys are just trolling because you're not this stupid.
Sure they were. You're trolling because you're an Eagle's homer. Dude was down and your guy wasn't even going in for the tackle when he was. Hence, the penalty.

That no-call was outrageous
Seemed like a legit pass defense to me. The ball was underthrown anyways. Receiver never would have got it.
it was DPI, had both hand on the shoulders pulling him towards goal line. BUT it wasn't egregious, they don't always call those on desperation plays late.
Yeah he had 2 fistsful of jersey pulling him backwards. I get letting them play, but you can’t let them get away with that.

No penalty, Goedert still probably doesn’t catch it with 2 defenders, but he didn’t even have a chance.

Well, we aren't that stupid but apparently you are since the only one who thinks it was a BS call is a delusional Eagles fan. he was clearly down.

He was down right before he got hit. Defender dove well before he was down. Calling that there was ridiculous

6 rushes from the best player on the team is the elephant in the room. Not sure if he had a carry in the second half. I get they stacked the box but with a top OL and being at home this is why they lost. Nice win from the Broncos

So they pick up a intentonal grounding flag but keep a weak personal foul call ok
He dove on his head when he was down lol
It was plain as day. Everyone saw it. Even the refs, play announcers and everyone watching it on TV.
It was not and it changed the ending of the game. Eagles probably still lose but it was an egregious bad call.
Sorry, pal, but literally everyone disagrees with you. Most importantly, the refs and New York and the people actually watching the game.

The Eagles have barely won all of their games this year. They're a precarious 4-1.

OL is not top right now. 2nd and 3rd sting Guards in. Getting blown up in the middle.

I didn’t see the whole game, but Den is strong stopping the run. They struggle covering RBs in the flat.

Philly’s Oline is nowhere near “the best Oline in the NFL” they have been the last several years. Injuries making them weak in the middle.

The highlights I saw, they did pass to Saquon and had some RPOs. That was the smart way to attack that D.

Egregious? In today’s nfl if you dive on a dudes head it’s going to be called every time.

One of you in particular owes Bo Nix a very big apology.
Nix played well enough to win but had 6.2 YPA and a 87.8 QB rating, going 24/39.
When it mattered most in the 4th quarter Nix led three scoring drives and was 9/10 for 127 yards and a touchdown with a 152.1 passer rating
Hey no denying he came up big in the 4th Q, but lol regarding someone apologizing to him, meh. He got a W.

Sucks to lose for sure. At least it was to an AFC opponent I guess.

But Nix didn't do anything that really impressed me yesterday.

Eagles are about as fluke a 4-0 team as one can be. They are 4-5 plays from being 0-4. This is not a sustainable formula for them. Unfortunately, the Broncos aren't exactly a get right opponent for the offense. The Eagles need to get Hurts going in the pass game, and ideally to AJ, who while he will see some Surtain, I doubt Surtain travels, as obviously Smith is no slouch.

I think Philly gives Bo Nix some fits, and the run game could sputter this week. I really like the under.

I'll say Broncos cover, but this is a game I'd want to stay away from.
You're better than that thought process. Could you not also then say that the Eagles were 2 plays from absolutely blowing out the Buccs? It works both ways.

That said, I can definitely see Denver winning this game. 20-17 but not sure for who. Under definitely seems like a really good bet today, but who knows.
Sure, if they don't give up the long Egbuka/Irving TDs, but those are less fluky to me than say a blocked FG returned for a TD. My point stands either way I think. If this is what the Eagles want to be, they aren't gonna repeat, or likely even come close. This is a legit bad offense right now, its likely 90% the play calling, which has been Tecmo Bowl level.
The "returned for a TD" part is irrelevant, they would have won with just the block.

Agree the play calling has been totally horrendous. I know you made a big flag plant on Brown this year and are frustrated with the playcalling. I think they get him back going soon though. Maybe not this week though, this game feels like a defensive battle is a lock. Hopefully the OC can figure it out soon!

Think AJ goes off today. The first 4 weeks were mainly zone teams. Denver runs heavy man.
Yeah, but Pat Surtain is elite. Not saying AJ can’t beat him fighting for the ball, but Jalen is not a fan to throwing at him when somebody’s in his hip pocket.

I’d love to see AJ have a monster game and get happy, but I have my doubts it’s today.
Yeah, I think there's going to be too few points scored today, and too much Surtain coverage for the breakout to happen today.
Surtain hasn't really been that good this season, and he doesn't travel. Could see just as much of him on Smith as Brown.
I haven’t watched every Broncos game this year, but he’s looked plenty good to me.

If Vance makes the mistake of putting Riley Moss on AJ, Jalen will dial him up every time.

Surtain can't cover everyone.
I think he’ll travel with AJ.
travdogg said he doesn't travel. But I don't really know.
Surtain will shadow. It all depends on the scheme Vance Joseph draws up for that particular game.

Week 1 Surtain was on Ridley 84% of the time
Week 2 on Pittman 57%
Week 3 on Q. Johnston 86%
Week 4 on Chase "a lot" (Moss on Higgins)
FTR Surtain traveled with Brown on 48 of 52 snaps according to Rick Eisen

But, when @travdogg says something, I usually listen. He knows ball and always makes good contributions to the board.

Yeah, mea culpa. I must have been too influenced by the Colts game. I hope it didn't cost you. I didn't think he traveled in the Chargers game, they just lined QJ across from him.

Ifs and buts, but if AJ/Hurts don't miscommunicate on that deep ball, AJ has a 50+ yard TD and everyone is happy they started him.

Just kills you to be gracious in defeat when you said something really silly with your team up big in the game. Oh well.

No mea culpa’s needed. I started AJ, but was pretty convinced he’d draw Surtain most of the time.

And I started him because I was treating him as a ‘can’t bench this guy’ because of where I drafted him, and hoping for a get right game. That was my breaking point, though. I have Egbuka and Diggs, and AJ rides the pine until they show me they have things fixed, then maybe he’s a flex.

Everybody misses ince in a while. You always put out good info, and I appreciate your contributions.

Agreed. No mea culpas required in the least. My intent was just to note for future reference. Plus it is true that Surtain did not frequently travel in previous years so this must be a new aspect of Vance Joseph's game planning

Nix played well enough to win but had 6.2 YPA and a 87.8 QB rating, going 24/39.

Nix has a better career completion percentage than Hurts. Own up when you're wrong. It's a bad look to double down on stupid takes.
i still don’t know what you’re talking about lol but you keep coming back every 8 hours w a quip

Cool. Bo Nix and the Broncos beat the Eagles.
The Eagles deserved to lose.

Cool Bo Nix has a 13-9 career record with a higher career completion percentage than Jalen Hurts, during in which he saw Jalen Hurts win a Super Bowl and Super Bowl MVP as a rookie.

Nix has a career 6.6 YPA - a full yard under “Rb playing QB” Jalen Hurts.

But again nice win. First loss in a literal calendar year in which Jalen started and finished the game so I see why folks are celebrating it.

Doesn’t change my opinion on Nix on iota.

I watched the game. I’m sure you did too. The numbers are impressive, sure. Watching it live w a few helps from either the officials or idiotic Eagles players contributed to this loss than some amazing play by Nix.

Look if you and Cowboysfan22 and the entire Gamesay thread about this game were impressed, feel free to be wowed.

Trying to convince me that Nix was great by repeating the same lines is definitely working tho so please keep it up.

Dude Is down in stats in literally every meaningful measurable passing statistic than he was last year.

BUT HE BEAT EAGLES THEREFORE HE IS GREAT

I actually understand now

BUT HE BEAT EAGLES THEREFORE HE IS GREAT

Well, we have all been reading for quite awhile now that the Eagles have the best offense, the best oline, the best defense, the best coaches, the best GM and the best owner , the best fans…so yes, I guess if anyone beats the eagles they must be great

You made an idiotic comment in the heat of a game you thought your team was going to easily win. Then, instead of owning up to it and admitting you were wrong, you double down.

Your opinion on Nix was wrong then and now you just want to stick with it, even though he just beat your team, in your home.

Odd business, that.

No sweat.

E
Nix just is not accurate

Uh, he is.

You are wrong. Proven.
He actually is.

Of all humans on Earth(great, relatively speaking), he is the 23rd most accurate human. Pretty good.

Of all NFL QBs, he’s also 23rd (not actually great relatively)behind guys such as.

Jalen Hurts (this is why you used career % right)
Spencer Rattler
Daniel Jones
Mac Jones
Carson Wentz

He’s ranked JUST right above Jake Browning

But again

HE DID BEAT THE EAGLES

So what you meant to say was "Bo Nix is a more accurate passer than Jalen Hurts".

Got it. No more needed at this time.

Hang the banner.

I forget, are you a Broncos fan?

I'm a fan of people owning up to idiotic statements made and apologizing for them.

Sounds right. Posting more in a rival game thread than their own.

I hope General Malaise only subscribes to my posts moving forward, I’m uneasy about having fans, but what can you do?
