Broncos RB. (3 Viewers)

If only there were a guy on the roster the coaches and front office really seem to like and have a good vibe about...
There is. Undrafted rookie RB C.J. Anderson. The fact that he suffered a knee injury that will keep him sidelined for almost half the season yet was kept as an undrafted rookie speaks volumes as to how highly they think of this kid. Come week 8, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Anderson is the most valuable Denver RB.

I can't see the Broncos getting up and grinding the clock with Ronnie Hillman. Ball should get his looks. If the Broncos struggle early I can see them leaning on the proven runner-catcher-blocker they have with Moreno. If that happens I'm selling high on Knowshon.

I got Hillman as my RB4 so for now he is a hold with upside. If he fumbles even once though, I probably won't hesitate to drop him for the hottest name on the WW on Monday.

The Broncos will go as far as Peyton Manning leads them, that's no secret. Can they really afford to have a back in there that they're not comfortable with in pass protection? No huddle offenses, quick pace, no subs...how can Moreno not be considered their lead guy?

Ball/Moreno '13 is similar to Bradshaw/Wilson '12.

If you can't block on a passing team, with an immobile Manning, y'aint playing a meaningful role.

Yet people continue it be blinded by the flashy rookie buzz and Rotoworld hype.

One chuck and Hillman turns the game... he'll be the least productive tonight IMO. Ball will get the goal line work and Moreno will be the featured back, especially if they have the lead. We'll see pretty soon.

Like I said... Knowshon Moreno, meet fork. Fork, Knowshon Moreno.
Next time I suggest using a spork. No one takes a spork seriously. :)
Don't take the Rotoworld blurb too seriously. Go read the article they were paraphrasing. The blurb was incredibly poor journalism on Rotoworld's part, because it gives the impressions that "team sources" were suggesting that Moreno could be the starter and get the largest workload, when in reality, in the article "team sources" confirmed it'd be a full-blown RBBC (which is what they've been saying for weeks), and then six paragraphs later the author chimed in with his own personal opinion that Moreno could be the starter and get the largest workload (which is no different than all the other speculation to that effect in this thread).

I'm sticking with my prediction of a 40/40/20 RBBC, with Moreno getting the short straw.
It was just a joke bro. :whoosh:

BTW I think Cecil has been doing a good job and I would like to sincerely apologize for being a goober to him earlier this year. I tried to send ya a PM but you are a popular guy, box was full. Anyhow I do mean that and have made an attempt to change my ways. That has troubled my conscience.

Someone please explain what fork means to Adam. I cannot seem to get through. Fork to me and I think most people means career over, done ect. Moreno is playing right now.

The KFC spork is deadly underrated.

Ball with no touches though the half...why the #### did I convince myself to start him? I guess cause I'm an #######

How bad is Ball if he can't beat out Moreno?

Moreno is pretty brutal to watch. He gets what's blocked and never anything more.

I have no stake in this backfield at all, but I would not be surprised to see them shift towards Ball eventually. Moreno is just so pedestrian running the ball.

I guess given Foxe's proclivity for caution and veterans RBs, we shouldn't be surprised Moreno is getting so many plays. But he hasn't shown much. Moreno is definition of a JAG.

Adam Harstad AKA SSOD ... No offense but I've never seen anyone be so wrong so often on the same topic.

You've been completely wrong on the Denver RB situation since the Ron Dayne days

Dude, he's a rookie. When he can pass block he can play. It will come.

Yeah, because they don't move the primary back into the first team when they are preparing for the season to begin. They keep him on the bench well into the week 3 dress rehearsal and then don't have him run the predominance of the plays with the ones when they open the regular season in 9 days.

Makes sense.
I actually think it does in this case. What does Moreno need to show at this point in his career? The coaches know that with him they have a guy who isn't great, but he can protect the QB. The young guys need reps and the coaches need to see them perform. Obviously if the young guys do perform they will keep their spot, but if not 'ol reliable is sitting in his stable waiting.
Really? I mean, really? Tryouts are over. In week 3 of the PS teams are getting ready for real games. Where guys are running this week in practice, barring injury, is where they will line up week 1 of the regular season.

Thanks for sharing your infinite wisdom throughout this thread, guy.

Yeah, best move was to stay away from this backfield altogether imo. Second best was to scoop up Moreno in the latter rounds. Worst -- so far -- was to burn an early-ish pick on Ball.

Pretty easy to spot the Ball owners in this thread tonight.

They sound eerily like David Wilson fans clowning on Bradshaw last season. Only this time, they used a high pick on Ball.

It's about protecting 18. HTH.
