What do you think?
just getting his attention so that he stops being stupid in a big moment. He's wearing a helmet so it didn't hurt.
I don't get it. Players slap each others helmets all the time.
Why is this even a question? Nothing happened.Video: https://twitter.com/Football_Guys/status/1482831513569968134?s=20
What do you think?
A lot of people on social media were upset. So I asked here. Why is this even a question? Nothing happened.
With his hand. This created lots of “A coach can never hit a player” talk.I didn't look at the non-linked link because I'm lazy.
What did he slap him on the helmet with exactly?
Wondered how others saw it.That was dehumanizing to watch. Yuck
I just saw it now. He should probably refrain from doing that.
Seriously? Wow....With his hand. This created lots of “A coach can never hit a player” talk.
Lemme guess: anyone outraged must be part of the woke crowd.A lot of people on social media were upset. So I asked here.![]()
This is a horrible take, and I am a Oregon homer.Jimmy Lake was fired for it but he was an awful coach and the school needed a cause to fire him.
Arians won a Superbowl and gets a pass because he wins and Adams isn't a kid.

Really Joe?
I have no problem with the question and thread - seems like reasonable question because that’s not great behavior and as you go down in the age of players wouldn’t be acceptable. Anyway, the point of my post is social media is crap and we shouldn’t judge an action on how some folks on SM react to it.![]()
I saw how other parts of social media reacted and asked how people saw it here to see how this forum compared. Is that a problem for you?
I think the first level where I would say - “you can’t do that” is probably middle school. I wouldn’t even get too worked up if a HS coach did it unless it was a regular thingI agree that it is probably not a big deal. But imagine if Urban Meyer did that to one of his players. Would the sentiment be the same?
What if the player pushed Arians back or swatted his hand away? Would that warrant any type of discussion other than "this is a non-story"? Rhetorical questions.

Off topic, but is this your only business now? You don't have the boats any longer?I don't think social media is crap. But there's a lot of crap on social media![]()
I think mostly I am super interested in our communities.
Part of trying to run a business and serve customers is trying to understand what they think and how they see things.
So when I see something happening on a huge platform like Twitter, I often wonder how our tiny little group here sees it. And here, I can do a poll so easily and get good discussion. That's why I do these.

https://twitter.com/Brett_McMurphy/status/1460003472879853568?s=20Sigh.....from Sporting News:
Why did Washington fire Jimmy Lake?
Cohen did not say so specifically, but hinted that altercations between Lake and players contributed to the firing. The first incident the public was made aware of happened on Nov. 6. It took place in the first quarter of Washington's 26-16 loss to Oregon: Freshman linebacker Ruperake Fuavai was seen jawing with an Oregon player, prompting Lake to slap his player in the side of the helmet before shoving him in the back.
So......

Washington fires coach Jimmy Lake after only 13 games. “He had to go,” source told
@ActionNetworkHQ
. “The recruiting was worst it’s ever been. We were fearing we’d revert back to the (Ty) Willingham days. He had very few allies here"
Lake was fired for being a crappy coach and recruiter. Yes he shoved a player, but that's not why he was terminated.
Just because someone is wearing a helmet doesn't give you the right to physically take out your frustrations on them.
