Bruce Carter (1 Viewer)

Hi, thoughts from the game yesterday was that Bruce carter looked fast but was not in Dime and Nickel Packages. Did anyone else see this

3rd down base set he seemed to be in a lot. Not sure about nickel. I'll have to watch again. I think i saw he was in for 30 plays to Connors 3. Dont quote me though.

Jene Bramel @JeneBramel 5h Bruce Carter, despite the Cowboys using primarily a 2-4-5 subpackage in preseason, sat nearly 50% of the snaps

SportsSturm: Looking forward to snapcount on Bruce Carter vs Dan Conner. >> Carter 30 snaps, Conner 4. Clear who their choice is. 11:55am - 6 Sep 12

How did he look? Anyone see if he was playing in Lee's spot or was he still at SILB? 4 solos didn't impress me. What's the good word?

im tossing this bum back as he seemed to be arriving at most tackle opportunities a few steps too late. Hes definately no Sean Lee .

Did you look at the rest of the tackle numbers for Cowboys defenders?

Very low tackle opportunity. I think there were only 42 total in the game.

He appears to be ranked relatively high again this week. Anyone rolling with him again this week? Debating between he and Burfict.

. I don't fully trust Carter quite yet. I gambled last week and started him and I ended up sorely disappointed at what he produced (especially since I had Bobby Wagner on my bench). If I were you I'd roll with Burfict. He's at least proven himself and you know what you're likely to get. Burfict is the leading tackler on the Bengals since he was given 3 down duties.I know the projections are high on Carter, but he is no Sean Lee. None of us really know yet what he can produce when given a game with average tackle opportunites in a 3 down role. He's not had that game yet.I love the FBG's website, but sometimes their projections are really crazy. In this instance I can't see how Carter is ranked so highly since he's proven nothing in his new role.I have Carter on my team, but he's riding the pine until I see just how well he does with the new responsibilities bestowed on him.

What do people think of Carter now with Lee done for the year.

He's been a machine the past 2 weeks but I haven't heard anything at all about him.

Is he any every down back ... will he pick up Sean Lees production? So far it looks that way.

He has played every down the last 5 weeks/games
Sean lee has only been out for 3 weeks/games
That's part of the point...?
Thanks for that useless blurb. From Rotowire Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan has been impressed with ILB Bruce Carter's ability to take over as the leader of the defense."This guy's become a hell of a football player right in front of our eyes this season. I wouldn't have predicted that. Absolutely not. But he is a tremendous football player. He’s playing as fast as his great athleticism allows him to play. He’s smart. He works hard... This kid has really become special," said Ryan. Once Sean Lee (toe) went on injured reserve after Week 7, Carter took over as the defensive signal caller and has amassed 24 tackles in the three games since.Source: Fort Worth Star-Telegra

He was pretty quiet in this last game. But he certainly stands out in the couple games I've seen since my original post. The guy makes plays and seems to be in on every tackle. He can cover the whole field.

Dallas not only has a glut of WRs, but a glut of LBs as well.
